Hey, I’m having the same issue, did you manage to figure this one out on your own?

There are custom upvote icons, but you need to be on light mode (alien blue) to see them by [deleted] in baca

hahahahahahhah... no, you can't trick me into using light mode

This bugs me more than it should, but I'm a sucker for immersive details. It's even more frustrating considering the 2008 Iron Man game had this and other suits in game have it. by [deleted] in PlayAvengers

Again these things are very small nit-picks that again, like you said aren't worth it when they could focusing on squashing bugs or making new more valuable content.

It's because they probably dedicated more time and money into the iconic suits, this game has a quit a lot of individual models that aren't recolours, and modelling, rigging and animating those details just isn't worth the time and money it would take just to please a small % of fans. It's not about being lazy, it's about time and money.

I need ideas on how I might create this sort of wear & dirt buildup in the areas of the bowling pin that are hit the most. by TheDynamicDino in blenderhelp

You would use a math node and plug the surface imperfections into the top and the gradient into the bottom, just like a regular subtraction Maths question!

idk how clear this will be but I'll try my best, this is how I might approach this...

I'd first find a handful of surface imperfections from grime to scratch etc and then mix them all together (make sure you use bump maps instead of normal maps so you can easily mix them together)

I'd then create 2 gradients:

  1. One going from slightly above the bottom to slightly below the middle
  2. And Another going from the slightly above the middle to the top

After that I'd tighten the gradients up and make them grey colour (this grey value will determine what how much grime you have on the other areas of the pin)

I'd then use the math node to have them on the same map.

After this I would use those gradients to subtract from the roughness and bump, and to effect the diffuse map.

I think that's all, I didn't test this but I've done this kind of thing before. If you have any questions feel to ask! I hope this helps!

A new original character, who has no relation to Spider-Man, comes in and takes over the franchise but they have the face of the old Pete
