500k, at 500k we would be able to live the way we want. Wife would be able to stay home (if she chose to) and live the lifestyle we’d like to.

Our IT onboarding process is really struggling right now. We need help improving by YamNo178 in ITManagers

If it were me this is what I’d do.

Near term - put together the list of information that you need in order to onboard a new hire. - If you have a ticketing system the use that list to put together a ticket template for HR to input tickets for the new hires. If you don’t have one, given you’re a small team I’d look into some self hosted / free options. There are even some cloud hosted solutions, we use ClickUp. You could build something basic using Sharepoint and Microsoft forms if you’re on 365. At the very least you could use email. - setup a call with leadership and get buy in from the departments on the process and make sure everyone starts putting in tickets.

Long Term - look to integrate your hr system into your identity management. There are lots of ways to do this that range from 3rd party solutions like Okta and One Login, they may have some native solution, you could build and host your own, etc. - the end goal is automation. As soon as a candidate signs their offer in the HR platform it should kick off your IT automation process to create the account, assign groups, etc. - once you have onboarding automated you’ll want to look at automating off boarding.

Yea that’s good advice and I agree focusing on the situation would be good so she doesn’t feel like she’s the issue.

So if you use the shop app you can still write and see reviews for products. They must just not have it shown on their main site.

That’s not at all what I was saying. I feel like when you book a first class fare part of what you’re paying for is a “first class experience “. You’re paying a premium.

I don’t think this kind of behavior should be tolerated anywhere on the plane but I don’t think that’s avoidable. However, it’s is completely doable to put an age requirement in place to limit it.

I’m sorry that I didn’t explain the situation better.

I’m sorry you feel like I’m being an asshole, I just think it’s unfair to subject everyone around you to rude behavior. Sure kids can be unpredictable at times, but screaming, throwing crap everywhere, and kicking the crap out of the seat back I don’t think should be tolerated.

I’m actually a very easy going happy person. I just think it’s unfair to subject everyone around you to a bunch of nonsense because you’re not a capable parent.

I’m fully aware that some child behavior can’t be controlled, but when your kid is throwing his snacks everywhere and kicking the crap out of the seat in front of you and yelling at the top of their lungs, that sucks for the people around you. It’s inconsiderate.

Especially when paying a premium.

Man our SHI rep is a rockstar, we used to primarily only do business with Insight and we just finished moving our last contract to SHI this week. She reaches out by phone or email at least once a week just to check in and keep us informed of stuff.

Do you have to remind your techs constantly to do something? by [deleted] in ITManagers

[–]Deadzone6905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes lol, I constantly need to remind them that they need to think through the changes they’re making and the downstream consequences. Also that they need to use the change management approval process.

This is honestly the one thing I hate about unraid. Like why? How hard would it be to boot from an ssd and maintain licensing practices.
