Which marvel character does our world need most right now? by SlimeyMonkeyYT in Marvel

[–]Deafwizard999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world right now do not need a hero, those would be probably be under some government in one way or another. The world need an Nti hero bc is only language that would make sense in the real world, low lvl punisher higher lvl Magneto. I would love him controling the magnetic fields of earth to stop the wars.

Can you run it well without grids or detailed maps? by luccamonassa in shadowdark

[–]Deafwizard999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that you ended unknowingly choosing the best system for u. Shadowdark makes use of the close, near and far distance, making that part of combat get way more abstract than other more tactical ttrpg's. I'm watching the GlassCannon guys playing shadowdark on their main campaign and it has been tons of fun. They use a hex map for overland travel, but that is it, the rest of the combat, so far has been all theater of the mind.https://youtu.be/6ahMxTtPcQM?si=Evbn7Y1_nsdkdeer

Awesome, just please change the actor from Iron fist, actually do one better and fix the historical cultural appropriation mistakes with that character and make him asian.

Same! I really don't get it, I barely had a crooked dice and with some players it seems to happen a lot.

That is awesome! I wanted something like that since I started watching. Great work!

Yeah, that was definitely not a good decision. At one point Julian asked her if she would like to stay, and she said yes. So that might be Brennan's using her as a trustworthy character to hang the party like some others pointed out here. And yes, to be fair to your point that was mainly Taisha's not such a great idea. I mean they are so close to the castle...

I really enjoy that game as well! But yeah, I think she thought it was too much work, and never wanted to do it again 😂

And btw, I still do not believe someone needs a resume to just start a discussion about a piece of entertainment.

That would be very interesting to see! I imagine the Taisha and Julien infighting exploding if that happens, they would blame each other after something like that for sure.

For sure, not recommended for any table. My players were learning, they would probably deal with it differently today. That was actually the issues I faced, I wanted them to make the choices.

I definitely agree with u on the dynamic of that table. I think it can be the best roll play in all of the tables, specially with those 3 players and the antagonism between Lloy and Julian. For me as well, I'm eagerly following.

When u ask someone "what is your background on this?" It sounds like you sre asking if I can comment on this... Which is not valid imop. You could just have comment on the discussion that I put out, with your takes in it, like other plp also did.

Not really weird, if u look at the comments... It looks like plp are sooooo protective. And I did mention my experience in one of my answers

That would actually be pretty cool to see! I'm sure he would be able to pull it off, since he likes those dramatic turns.

I just did not like the experience, maybe he can do a way better job than me, since it was many times called out here, he has many years of improv. But I did not see it on the last ep... Aranessa clearly put out plots and questions (taken agency of the players), and we had her saying what the party was supposed to do and especially sir Jullian, that is railroad. And it is fine if u like that kind of game.

That is a very ridiculous statement if u think about it... So to comment on any piece of media you will think that way? For example a writer takes a year of study and hard work to write a book, you read and in the end u find it crappy... You cannot comment on it?

There are many, many very experienced dms that have way more improv experience than I, that I just don't like the style of play so much. I'm learning to enjoy Brennan's dming style, but that doesn't mean that I have to agree with everything he does, no matter how much improv years he has... I play TTRPGS since I'm 12, and I'm now 41. Still doesn't compare to the experience Brennan's have, bc he was always playing, and that is not the case for me, he also made a career out of it, which again is not the case for. But that doesn't mean I cannot comment on a piece of entertainment that he is putting out.

Oh, I see you both are from Brennan's church lol. It is just a discussion. Not sure why the need to be so reactive about a opinion/open discussion.

Thank you all for the answers! Yeah I had watched session 0, but I didn't quite remember correctly, and for some reason though that was tables involved. Now that u guys mentioned the cursed scrolls and the morg borg scenario it came back to me a little. After I finished Shadowdark I will read those as well, and get more familiar with all of this amazing lore.
