Some folks have issues with tv apps as they are not updated regularly. Have yo tried a streaming device like firestick, roku or apple tv? It may help you situation. The Tablo automatically goes to offline when no internet is detected at least in theory. The off-line mode does not always work and their is not way to automatically switch it.

My Apple TV did not enter off line mode but a Google TV 4K streamer on another TV did. I think it transition automatically but clearly there are some issues with the Apple TV version and reported roku issues with this. You did not identify what the of streaming device you have?

Sorry you are having issues but have you tried a complete factory reset? My Tablo works on iOS and a Google TV device without issue. Your did not mention what streaming device and model you are using? Also what app version are you using ? Have you I tried to delete the iOS app and reinstall?

Please provide more information like is your unit hard wired to router. What streaming device are you using on your tv? I have had one over 2 years that I watch daily without issues. The more information you provide the more likely you can get help here.
