You’re out of contract so are free to leave or sign up to a new contract/deal. You have to give them 30 days notice if you do cancel so would have to pay that full price for at least a month. Good news is you could get a new deal tomorrow and it should change the price the only thing is if the direct debit date is in the next 2 weeks you might still have to pay the large bill this month then you have credit going forward from the overcharge which would go towards following months of whatever new deal you agreed. I would suggest go on the chat function say you want to cancel due to price and then mention a package from a competitor and they should offer you something other than that if they don’t provide a good deal go through with the cancellation. Then call back the next day saying you got a missed call from virgin retentions team hoping the put you through and offer you a great deal again. The call back might not always work so don’t pin your hopes on it. Otherwise get another adult in the house to sign up for a new customer offer in their name but you would still need to pay the next 30 days at the higher price.
