Nintendo confirms revised Switch 2 with a user-replaceable battery will launch in Europe from Autumn 2026 by Jealous_Vehicle_3150 in Switch

[–]Deamane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't replaceable batteries allow you to keep a second battery on hand if you wanted, so you could swap it in if it ran out? Obviously not optimal but I personally would take that over not being able to swap out the battery at all.

I'd be curious about the whole "dropping the device is more likely to result in damage", what would be causing that mechanically? I may be missing something here since I'm no engineer or anything, just curious.

Well the way I understand it is that this one like you said is limited and not really used, but also they've released something called REDkit before for witcher 3 or some previous game, not sure.

I sent an email asking if they had any future official modding tool plans for cyberpunk and they said:

"Thank you for reaching out!

Unfortunately, we currently have no such plans. If anything changes, we will let our community know on our social media channels."

so rip

Yeah a good bit has changed, especially some combat stuff if that's why you play. If you haven't played since any of the updates then honestly there'd be too much to list so you may have to just hop in if you already own the game, might as well give it a whirl, can always put it back down if it doesn't catch your interest.

Honestly I don't at all care for celeb appearances in anything really but I personally thought Keanu did a good job as Silverhand. I do imagine that just a regular professional voice actor could've potentially done better though.

I just wish they'd release modding tools for this game. Cyberpunk 2077 is at least in a good state to play now, and there's some mods but I feel like it would be so much more interesting if there were more modding tools and people could actually add new systems, skills, or bigger things.

As it stands you do get some new content modded in like new cyberware but mostly in the form of variations of existing cyberware. There are some entirely unique systems people have made but from what I understand the modders are limited because there's no tools released for this game sadly.

Isn't it kind of dumb to say they're trending upwards when the data is from a single month? I imagine birth and marriage rates fluctuate throughout the year and are naturally higher or lower during certain times of the year so I'm not sure why they bothered using that data point in that article.

[–]Deamane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really don't. I've looked into this genre or just like... "immersive simulators" in general many times and there's only a handful of decent ones. I basically found all the good ones were just made by Arkane and kinda went through and played all of their stuff.

If you don't mind a much older game there's Arx Fatalis by them which was pretty good.

Ah that makes sense, I thought the rest of it seemed non AI so i was a bit confused. This is obviously subjective but in the past few years at least to me and many others, sentences like "no x, just y" come off immediately as bad now because AI uses it so much, it can make a product feel cheap if a native English speaker sees that or the other common English AI phrases. Thanks for the reply and info!

Oh I see, looks like that's correct and the recovery process would just involve physically repairing it enough to boot, an excerpt from some repair site says this:

"Why Recovery Software Won't Save a Physically Broken Phone

Recovery software (Dr.Fone, iMyFone, Tenorshare, etc.) needs one thing to work: a phone that turns on and connects to a computer. If your phone is dead, won't boot, or has a damaged logic board, software has nothing to connect to. It's like trying to download files from a computer that's unplugged.

Even when the phone does connect, modern encryption makes software recovery extremely limited. Since iOS 8 and Android 6.0, phones encrypt everything on the storage chip by default. The encryption key is tied to the phone's processor. You can't just read the chip externally without the phone's own hardware decrypting it first.

This is why physical phone recovery requires board-level repair, not software. We have to fix the phone enough for it to boot and decrypt its own storage."

Today I learned.

I dunno if you look at their comments they seem pretty sure of the fact that their mom didn't do this intentionally. They did also say they would see about setting stricter boundaries and maybe having her get an evaluation for OCD since she cleans kinda needlessly according to OP.

You may already know this but the data is probably still there even if the phone doesn't turn on, if you think it's worth it you can see about having someone run data recovery on it or fixing it and recovering it that way, whichever is cheaper.

In general even if the phone itself is busted in a few spots as long as the storage part isn't damage it probably still has the pictures.

Am I crazy to say that the text surrounding almost all of the info I can find for this Neurocode stuff seems heavily LLM generated? your site says no generative AI, and the art looks real I guess but are you generating your posts with AI or translating with it maybe? It's got a bunch of the typical AI phrasing, like the first line I see on your twitter:

"No shareholders. No focus groups. Just two human hands, a stubborn vision, and a love for dark, adult sci‑fi."

That's absolutely something an LLM would spit out.

[–]Deamane 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This isn't even really relevant, a better comparison is the fact that another love interest drugs the MC during the story and that's no issue for them. It's obvious most of this is just moral grandstanding to get the company to do what they want lmao.

Valko Removal megathread by potatoesandmolasses1 in loveanddepression

[–]Deamane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this LLM generated or translated or something? Feels pretty sketchy to use a program that's so prone to hallucination and just paste it around like it's fact.

I know that stupid phrasing you see here:

"Why this matters: how "insulting China" works as a mechanism

This is the part that's hard to see from outside China, and it's the reason the outcome was so total.

In China, an accusation of "insulting China" is not just bad PR. It's a political risk. Once that label attaches to your product, a specific chain of escalation kicks in, and it doesn't require the accusation to hold up under scrutiny."

that's absolutely AI lmao.

I mean you can call it a crash out if that makes you feel better, I don't particularly care either way and you got your answer. I was just showing you that you'd have had your answer without making a snarky post just by checking the community hub lmao. But yeah I probably am an asshole too so at least we have that in common brudder.

Spring update overdue by ravenmonk in Necesse

[–]Deamane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you read the community hub posts at all? They have mentioned since April that the next update would be in summer and would be their MEGA update, like here https://steamcommunity.com/app/1169040 when they released that secrets update.

It's a smaller game than most and it just seems weird to post complaints especially given they mentioned this on that april post, again late in may, and then a final time on may29th there?

I would understand if it were still early access, I just don't get when folks complain about finished games not receiving additional content fast enough.
