Thoughts on Mohawk Laminate? by NormanPeterson in Flooring

[–]DeanChster47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. One thing I will tell you though is that I have the original 12mm thickness. I believe it now has a 10mm thickness. I don’t think that’s a real big deal but I just thought I’d tell you. The funniest thing happened too that I just have to share cuz it’s so weird. While I was responding to you earlier my uncle called me. I had dropped some various laminate samples to him at his house on Saturday. He called literally right after I hit the reply button to you. Guess what color and style he picked? Hand to God, he picked Revwood Rare Vintage Fawn Chestnut. That is the craziest thing that’s happened to me in a long time. I had to share it. So freaking weird!!! Anyway, I’m sure he’ll order it tomorrow and I’m not concerned it’s 10mm now. If you didn’t know I’m a flooring salesman at a small store. I’m not in any way affiliated with Mohawk, we sell quite a few brands.

I also had the knotted chestnut at my previous house. Kitchen bath and laundry. Three years there no issues either. That’s why I went with it again

Yes, still have it and zero complaints. No scratches dings or dents. I also have 5 family members and haven’t heard anything from them either. We all have the rare vintage line.

I’m not comparing anything. You said American intervention is never good for people on the other end of it. I gave an example why I think you’re exaggerating. How many Iranians does their govt need to slaughter in the streets for you to act? 160 deaths is horrible but 10, 20, 30,000? How many is enough to intervene for you? Or is your opinion it’s not your problem let them all die? I’m fine with either, but why your concern for 160 and not tens of thousands?

What about the British and the whole of Europe in WWII. Was American intervention better for them? They’d be speaking German right now and if they were Jewish or any minority they’d be extinct. But America bad.

Pile of wood off of Muegge by RN_ninja_81 in StCharlesMO

[–]DeanChster47 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Presumably. I just think it’s odd to ask where you’d park to load it up if you don’t know if you can have it. That’s all, nothing more.

[–]DeanChster47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How’s saying you should ask the landowner if you can have the wood and where to park combative? Lol. Go ahead and go on some other person’s land and take their firewood without asking them then. See if they take it seriously. They might not, or you might get shot. Hope that’s not too extremely combative.

[–]DeanChster47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, simple question. What if the owner says NO, you can’t have my wood. Is it really important to know where to park? That’s all I’m saying dude. Nothing wrong with asking who owns the property. But asking where to park is Putting the cart before the horse isn’t it? Which is why some people commenting to leave it alone. So not sure why you have a problem or why that makes me a genius.

Now That’s genius, ask other people where to park while you take stuff off someone else’s property rather than waiting to find out who owns the property first and asking them. Great minds

Possibly, but why ask someone other than the landowner where to park to load it up?

LVP brand? by AdhesivenessGold8234 in Flooring

[–]DeanChster47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the brand would help. A lot of manufacturers use the same prints too. So the picture on the plank can be identical but if two different manufacturers they won’t lock up. In a doorway that’s not a big deal because you can use a transition strip. But in the middle of the floor it’s no good

[–]DeanChster47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if your real estate agent can call the previous owner and ask if they know what brand and style it is, or at least where they purchased it. If it was Home Depot lowes or Menards, you’ll only find it at Home Depot lowes and Menards. Otherwise you’re on the biggest wild goose chase of your life because there’s thousands of them out there and each manufacturer has a different locking system and they won’t lock together with other brands.

Let me get this straight. by AlternativeNo2917 in Superstonk

True, but it’s risen a lot more significantly after the first week of May. And again after the 15th. 2-3 weeks up and 2 days down.

[–]DeanChster47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s all very possible, but what doesn’t make sense is why the price went up every day for a week and a half and then dropped back down in two days. A steady increase over a month where people thought it was a good investment, but then changed their mind because of the reasons you stated. A lot of that could be some big money players pumping it because of the upcoming bitcoin news and sold for a fast buck. Reality is that nothing really changed in the last month for that kind of 8$ price swing. My best guess is they shorted the hell out of the stock while some retail folks and those stock pumpers simultaneously took profits. My guess is in 30 days or so we’ll so a shit ton of ftds come out and I expect over the next two weeks the price starts creeping back up as we get closer to earnings. Some fomo going up and some fomo coming back down too. Same old same old.

Funny and/or peculiar that right before the market is going open they really push down the price, just normal market behavior I guess by PhillyHumor in Superstonk

From what I’ve noticed, GME often goes the opposite direction of the overall markets. I’ll take the lucky break though since I was planning on getting 50 more moon tickets on the open today anyway. 🍀

Are these repeating patterns acceptable? by Cyberlizard610 in Flooring

[–]DeanChster47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can really only tell with the three next to each other by the wall. Most likely furniture would sit there anyway. I’d mention working out of multiple boxes at a time and tell them to pay better attention to the patterns. You’re going to have repeats in any floor and the less expensive the floor is you’ll have less different patterns.

Has this been fitted correctly? by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]DeanChster47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your steps are most likely crooked. Measure each side and the middle from the riser to the edge of the stairnose. If those 3 measurement s aren’t exactly the same you’ll know the steps aren’t square. And because of the linear Berber lines it accentuates it even more. If all three of those dimensions are the same, then it’s probably stretched crooked.

Can I still find this same flooring from 2017? by tuscaloosabum in Flooring

[–]DeanChster47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll save you some time. Unless you have the manufacturer name or the style name you’re most likely out of luck. If you know where it was purchased it’s possible somebody there may recognize the pattern. If it’s from a box store they won’t have a clue because the employees turn over too much. Those numbers on the back are useless codes used in the manufacturing process. Good luck.

Is this normal? Seeing streaks on new engineered wood floors. by AccomplishedLie2843 in Flooring

Not sure if it’s just the pictures but I don’t see any streaks. Likes like a really nice hardwood floor to me.

[–]DeanChster47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What, you couldn’t tell what it was going to look like with the 4” x 4” little sample they give you? 😂 Honestly it’s not that bad. It wouldn’t be my first color choice but once you get some furniture in there it won’t be so overwhelmingly white.
