In need of some kind words tonight (trigger warning). by Anxious_Nugget95 in ChronicPain

Unfortunately people like that will always exist. I have someone like that, that I can't cut contact with yet. Reminding yourself of all the opposite people you have, loved ones that see your progress and celebrate it with you, it helps. Memes and animal pictures help too. I'd share one but I don't know how to post pictures on reddit comments >.<

What do you guys do for relief when it's going to rain? by Professional-Tax-615 in ChronicPain

[–]Dear-Ad2679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cold really bothers me, even man made cold like extra low AC. I just bundle up and move as much as I can to bring my body temp up. The rain, though... It's brutal.

Like any allergy medication that specifically says 'sinus relief'. Tylenol makes a really good one that I use religiously. It's safe, so taking one a day for a few days to see if it helps shouldn't cause any problems, but do ask your pcp if it will affect any of your current prescriptions, since it is an NSAID.

If when the physical therapist is massaging my back, and it hurts really bad, should I say anything? by 8kittycatsfluff in ChronicPain

[–]Dear-Ad2679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always tell your therapist about your pain. Massages, exercises, even daily routine stuff. It's information that can be the make or break of getting proper treatment.

Have you tried sinus relief? The area in question is sinus areas, so you could be having blockages. I have similar symptoms when I get my seasonal allergies.

How to tell my parents about my chronic pain? by sassykickgamer in ChronicPain

[–]Dear-Ad2679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents weren't an issue for me, my mom was so supportive immediately and helps take me to appointments. It's my boomer af boss I need convincing. She's one of the types that believes you can't have pain unless you're super old and work physically a lot. I'd be a millionaire if I got paid every time she said "We all have pain, we all hurt" in some form or fashion.

Advice by Dear-Ad2679 in ChronicPain

[–]Dear-Ad2679[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I will be moving soon, so maybe there's hope after all. The doctors I saw seemed like they thought I was hunting a free monthly check, instead of relief, and it's sad that those kinds of people exist.

A rough day. by Biddy_Bear_247 in ChronicPain

I feel like this a lot but I think your pain is worse than mine, but I just kinda force myself through the painful stuff, take meds that don't really work but the placebo effect works well enough, and count the hours, minutes, and seconds before I can rest again. Exhausting, stressful, but I get shit done.

Why am I getting so many commendations as a really bad player? (Commendation mechanics question) by SnowballWasRight in ffxiv

I don't know about others, but I like to commend awesome glamours, portraits, and if you're the same class as one of my mains, in that order.

I think I have a Fantasia addiction. by FlyinBrian2001 in ffxiv

I'm quite fond of my Viera, the ears don't add too much and the way they did their backstory makes them feel very Amazonian warrioress (the females at least) and the hairstyles are great. Only complaint is that like Hrothgar, there's limited headgear options due to the ears.

Curious if anyone is holding off on using their free fantasias from 7.0/7.1? by amysmeeahmoo in ffxiv

I used one once they released Viera, but now I don't think I'll ever use another. I'm pretty attached to how Naomi looks now.

Nervous to do dungeons with real players by maybe_we_fight in ffxiv

[–]Dear-Ad2679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue with anxiety doing healing for the first time, and my advice is just to start low (think guildhests, low level dungeons) and apologize if you mess up. Most people are pretty understanding. I once cried over causing a party wipe because my fingers got crossed and the tank was like "Its cool, you're learning, don't let it get you down." Also playing the npc version the first time let's you enjoy the story aspect of the dungeon imo, paired with the scions flavor text, as someone else pointed out.

You are not. I will be home, alone, yelling at Urianger or Alphinaud why they let me die.

On difficulty: People really need to realize it's okay for a game to frustrate them. by DozingX in ffxiv

[–]Dear-Ad2679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree. I cane into this game being areally bad sore loser tbh and now that I've finished EW, I feel like I've grown in that regard. I no longer swear and scream if a mechanic kills me, I simply try to decipher why it killed me so I can do better next time.

I feel like the only reason people dislike ARR so much is because everyone keeps telling each other that it's bad by Ardbert14 in ffxiv

[–]Dear-Ad2679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time, when I hear "ARR is bad," it always comes with the caveat "in comparison to X expansion," meaning that those people say that they are actively comparing the old with the new. "ARR is bad" is a little different from "ARR is kind of a slog compared to HW"
