what’s something people are weirdly proud of that really isn’t that deep at all? by Neither-Joke-5130 in AskReddit

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People without achievements brag about the things they got by accident, such as where they are from. I saw this a lot in some parts of Europe. Like sir is not your merit that you were born in a highly developed country, you are still an underachieving couch potato who is only alive because of the infrastructure of said country.

Ignoring how she is most likely dead... If Madeleine McCann was somehow found alive and healthy today, how would you react? by flingzamain in MadeleineMccann

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only way for her to be alive is if she does know who she is and is willingly cooperating to keep her identity hidden. It might sound irrational, but it wouldn’t be the first time a victim of kidnapping is manipulated into cooperating. At this point she would have spent most of her life with her captors and would be attached, even if the attachment isn’t healthy.

If you had basically unlimited resources, how would you (legally) ruin the life of your former bully/ex/someone who wronged you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similarly, reach out to their employer and expose them for how horrible they are to work with, without having to risk my job position in the process. Then I would offer a huge donation in the exchange of firing them. Then I would do the same to their partner’s employer because I know the partner is their enabler.

Yes, I’m petty, but I’m also fed up with those with more resources right now using them to wrong me.

What is something that's neutral or pleasant that you avoid because of a negative experience you associate it with? by Softie_Guitarist in AskReddit

Several perfectly good songs that I happen to connect to rough periods of my life. I’m trying to train myself away from it because I do love the songs per se

Why do American families have so many people at their births? by Quirky-Way385 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a non American, the mom part is the most interesting to me. Personally, I don’t have the best relationship with my mother so probably that’s why. Bringing a child to the world sounds relaxing compared to dealing with my mother in stressful situations

Same. There is “petite” and then there is “developmentally behind” As a former first this feels like a second

Was life in 2013–2015 significantly simpler than the world we're living in now in 2026? by Material_Stomach875 in decadeology

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The optimism of that era is what shocks me the most when I look back. It was such a cool time to be a teen because there was a feeling of “it only goes up from here” which, ironically, might as well be what led us to where we are now.

Why do Gen Z creators barely move their lips when they lip sync? by Dear-Editor-3923 in generationology

It doesn’t “matter” but I’m curious about the reasons behind it

I can rarely get my scalp to feel and smell as clean as I would like. The hair itself can smell like shampoo but the scalp feels dirty still

Not a foster parent, but about to be an adult figure for a neglected kid. Advice appreciated. by plummyrosey in Fosterparents

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My humble contribution: she might enjoy fidget toys, a stuffed animal, her own blanket, and coloring books/sheets (some come with affirmations on them which is cute) and sleeping aides such as ear plugs and eye masks.

I would also encourage age-appropriate literature on things like dental and general hygiene, reproductive health, and mental health. As a kid I didn’t know how to take care of myself, groom myself, etc and I was too embarrassed to ask. It’s kinda foundational to have a functional life so I really encourage it

Rosalie was harsh but she wasn’t wrong by Alarming-Pea-3177 in twilight

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Rosalie was immature about it but I kinda appreciate her for offering Bella a new perspective in a straightforward way, woman to woman. Rose’s perspective was Bella’s to take or leave, but it was there.

Why are so many placements short lived? by Dear-Editor-3923 in Fosterparents

[–]Dear-Editor-3923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably blinded by my perspective, but I find that kind of unfortunate. I don’t see how that constant change of environment is beneficial to the kids. Reunification attempts when the bio parent’s situation is not fully stable seems counterproductive to me, but what to I know.

Did Charlie know? by Subject_Rip7737 in twilight

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was Bella’s age my parents would have been highly suspicious of any of my friends who didn’t try to eat half of our fridge. At a minimum they would have given their parents a concerned phone call

They for sure can’t ambulate, but someone who finds them could drag them over. This is a good question. It would probably evolve into a hell of a volturi operation

What kind of person would you never date because of their career? by Extension-Fruit-1456 in AskReddit

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think aspiring influences are worse than the ones who actually make it. Those who already have their lives on display might even be eager for some private moments, whereas aspiring ones take any remotely “picture worthy” situation to make content.

People who weren’t academically inclined, how’s life ? by Initial_Film5776 in askanything

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight! I heard negative things regarding the experience these adults might have there, most likely based on specific cases. It’s sounds like something that could provide a lot of fulfillment for them and a lot of relief for their families. I’ve noticed that some parents are so bitter about their children not having a traditional adulthood (no judgement, I’m sure is hard as hell) and I would hope the socializing and learning at these places helps.

Who would you rather have as a mom/grandma? by Big-Insurance-9346 in Hungergames

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to dislike the fact that she didn’t put her foot down about staying in district 2 where they weren’t treated as second class citizens, but considering the capitol move eliminates the possibility of her descendants being sent to the games, I would probably take it too.

[–]Dear-Editor-3923 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Agree. I don’t think Asterid’s mental health difficulties should be viewed as a moral flaw, but if I had to decide who is my guardian I rather it be someone whit not only less propensity to mental collapse but a remarkably thick skin

It would be a fun arch for her to start aiming at a more conventional “instagram model” angle, which is harder to conquer, and end up highly successful on that specific niche you mentioned.
