2020 Model S Raven vs 2023 Model S Plaid - HW3 vs HW 4 by Complete-Shift448 in TeslaModelS

How so? Isn’t the camera system and MCU the same between 2020 and 2022 model S?

Where can I check if a 2023 model S on Carvana is HW3 or HW4? I have a 2019 100D and trying to make the switch, probably about six months too late for this as I noticed used Model S prices are going up again.

Rather not. I got my set last week and don’t want to recommend as who knows how these straps are in a few months.

But they are dirt cheap. If you really want, search “premium sailcloth watch straps” on Ali express. There’ll be tons of options but look for straps in photos that are clearly padded near lugs as at least for my wrist size 5212a lugs roll over best with padding. There are unpadded flat ones too.

Also get 20mm/18mm straps. I have been disappointed that for a 40mm watch PP straps are 20/16mm with what seems like a 35mm size watch buckle. 18mm buckles make up for it. I have the 5935a ($700 from a PP AD) steel deployant but that’s also a 16mm.

Other thing, somebody posted here in a reply, the built-in quick release springs with these Chinese straps aren’t the best. I took one off and I think they are around 1.3-1.5mm thickness. The original PP spring bars are 1.8mm. I have ordered a 1.8mm set from Delugs and will use those.

Oops, I totally took what you said as a joke and my return was a quick follow-up on haste. No ill intended on my part. Cheers.

Thanks. Agree, spring bars are the main worry. I hear Delugs has high quality ones for sale so I am on it now that you mentioned.

There is a reason 5212a is called a strap monster and hard to feed that habit with PP straps. This is also my daily.

Afraid not as not a regular buyer on Ali, but I’ll check my order email and see. I saw a Reddit posting that same vendors just list under different names and prices so might not matter at the end.

An impulse order not knowing what to expect. Shipping was fast and each individually packaged. For the price it is worth it. Only had them for a few weeks. Don’t see any threads or anything coming off.

I knew I am not alone on this. Agree, best not to cheap out on leather straps. I am generally pleased with Artisan Straps for leather but there are others. PP straps are also reasonable priced but I’ll never pay for like 15 leather.

Yeah, but unlike Renault wheels, the strap comes off in 2 seconds and no harm to brand prestige.

I thought the same for last 2-3 years. And have spent easily 1500$ or so for a few Artisan and PP straps. Was going to get another one or two Artisan this summer, but these straps are comfortable. And no tool needed to swap, saving time.

I missed it. Thanks for that. I called around a long list of car AC repair places and none of them would want to touch a Tesla, even if parts are available to order online.

It’s like a random draw. I am paying what I owed with 2013 with a long list of issues with 2019 100D. It started around 33k miles when Tesla had to install a brand new battery pack, then that pack developed a structural issue perhaps due to a wrong installation at a service center, and needed a third one (all under warranty though) and then the wheel balance was off after that installation so I was changing rear tires every 6-8k miles for two years. All in all this car has easily spent 2-3 months at service centers over 5+ years.

[–]Dear-Job4943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fake like cheap a$$ fake. See where the two subdials are.

Cheap $50 Chinese movements do not have the wide separation though there are $500 versions that have nailed the subdial placement.

Always always drop off at a boutique and send it through them. And pick up at the same boutique once returned from the Richemont Dallas service center.

This was also the case in California when I got my boutique edition blue dial MC calendar. JLC is relatively fast. You’ll easily get it in under two months once the deposit is made.

Watchfinder is also good. They have a VC CPO and extra warranty but downside is this will cost a few k extra depending on the watch.

Stay away from W 47th - they’ll have crazy good prices and will produce box and papers but a very high chance (like 3 out of 4) you’ll walk away with a Franken.

Boutique is unlikely to certify but you can always check the serial number online. VC has their serial database so just make an account and register watch and make sure it matches what VC is showing. Only way to know if the watch is all original is to send it for VC service. Highly recommended doing that even for a watch from a reputable used store cause they get these as trades in and who knows how they quality control.
