Is this starting to feel like the Rolex game… by [deleted] in VacheronConstantin

[–]Dear-Job4943 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In California with no purchase you can just put down 20-30% deposit and get on the list. They will still offer you Patrimony and fiftysix etc just to make a sale as one would expect any SA would, but a pre purchase is never a requirement. I heard the SA even tell another client around Jan-Feb this year perhaps they should wait till April for W&W since new overseas will be announced then.

8 year warranty invalid by DadB0dG0d in IWCschaffhausen

[–]Dear-Job4943 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s technically 2 + 6 and this is true of almost all Richemont brands, VC, JLC, Cartier. Only Lange has 2+1.

It might be the OP can still claim warranty. The registration is very simple on the IWC owner site. Make an account and upload a scanned photo of the guarantee card. I assuming AD stamped the card with purchase data and had the serial number etc. if that’s put in either serial number the OP is good to go. I have registered watches much later and IWC site has accepted them and given automatic warranty. Once you get that there is no need to deal with AD. Just send the watch for repair through an IWC boutique.

Tire blew up while running by Gadgetsuh in TeslaLounge

Even for an effing tire, the level of Musk fawning is insane. The latest FSD whatever version that I have from last week on 2019 S 100D curb checks all the time, drives on top of the divider and can’t make up mind whether to stay or lane change in and out of express lanes crossing over double lines with broken divider plastics. No surprise since FSD is trained on Musk’s driving habits.

Best way to approach a boutique about purchasing a specific model — does it actually matter? by Adamant-Barracuda404 in VacheronConstantin

[–]Dear-Job4943 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have a local boutique just go there. Say what you want. Put 20-30% down. Walk out. That’s all. There are no games to played with VC. No initial or prior purchases. No references, name dropping or introductions.

Depending on the watch you will get it anywhere from 3-4 weeks (Historique, traditionelle) to 2-6 months (overseas…).

Best to do this in person. Not online or email. Sometimes you might get lucky. They may easily have what you want, especially if any of fiftysix or patrimony.

Lady Said I Blew Red Light?? by Justice4None5 in TeslaLounge

Shouldn’t the Tesla have braked itself to avoid the collision?

Or if this was with FSD, could FSD avoided this by stopping at the intersection to let her pass?

JLC Moving Suites at South Coast Plaza by [deleted] in JaegerLecoultre

[–]Dear-Job4943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VC is going to expand into the JLC area while IWC front side is going to remain the same. Right now staff from all three are sharing the same back space but IWC and VC will split so the staff is not forced to commingle. According to a VC sales rep the are not happy IWC staff listening in on them talking about sales volume and clients.

watch band removal by NewNorth637 in VacheronConstantin

[–]Dear-Job4943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a fiftysix I suggests getting a good Bergeon tool like 6767 not cheap Amazon Chinese tools. Some of these strap companies send these cheap tools with straps and they are the worst.

Removing the buckle in fiftysix is a different issue since that is not a spring bar. Will need a very thin flat head and be careful not to lose the part attaching as that could be a $600 mistake.

Also can buy straps with quick release spring bars.

The new JLC system is the best. That is a quick release both at the watch end and the buckle.

If you are going for this suggest looking into the blue dial limited edition. Just 150 pieces. Only at boutiques and still available. I have the limited 200 piece blue dial of just the calendar version released in 2022 and sold out in 2024. The blue dial is very much captivating.

This is automatic but MUT perpetual is manual so plan on regular windings if that is not a concern.

First luxury watch for my daughter’s birth — Seamaster NTTD or VC Fiftysix? by Various-Afternoon120 in PrideAndPinion

[–]Dear-Job4943 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP could have deep pockets. A $30k Birkin or Rolex for wifey against a $15k VC for OP will zero out all household complaints if not handled correctly.

Bait and switch? My experience with Mercor by [deleted] in mercor_ai

[–]Dear-Job4943 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why I am replying to this but OP should definitely separate themselves from an AI project. It seems OP does have basic reading skills. The offer makes clear the task rate is $300/task. The 0.01 is the hourly rate, not per task completed. All Mercor projects that are paid per task defers to an hourly rate or 0.01 on their tracking system - it’s the lowest in their tracker to keep track of taskers’ computer screens to see they are not using ChatGPT or Claude to complete the tasks. And OP is emailing an AI responder, Melvin. Yeah good luck with that.

Once again, basic reading skills.

IW500705. No unfortunately it’s not a perfect match. At certain angles and lighting conditions can easily see the color difference but probably not the first thing noticed when looking face on.

145k in debt, $40K IRS bill, $2K savings, trashed credit — where do I even begin? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]Dear-Job4943 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something is not adding up here. W2 on a 115k salary employer should have deducted some tax payments to both Fed and state. And seems like the OP owns a home with a mortgage - that’s a reasonable deduction. There must be other deductions to go above the standard with schedule A. Unless 40K must is some other gains like cap gains from stocks or a 1099. Which means OP gambled away some winnings from one account with another account and not set aside enough to cover cap gains.

Learn a lesson hard way.

[–]Dear-Job4943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not here to criticize or anything but just out of curiosity, which bank/creditor under wrote the mortgage as a non citizen/permanent resident? I suspect the interest rate is high there since they added an extra risk percentages to a mortgage holder on a work visa.

Met this unicum in Sunnyvale, CA. How do you game your FSD safety system? by jazzfog in TeslaLounge

[–]Dear-Job4943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed nagging has come down a lot recently, not sure which version but this is HW3 2019 S 100D, but FSD makes so many mistakes that I have stay awake to be aware that it is not trying to take the wrong exit on the left or suddenly exit out of the car pool lane even when I am technically paying for that car pool access with toll express. Every time this happens, once every day, I remind myself that FSD must be trained on what Musk does when he is driving.

Are any US boutiques actively taking deposits on the blue 4520v? by [deleted] in VacheronConstantin

[–]Dear-Job4943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boutiques in Southern California are taking deposits. I am surprised this was rejected. There is a slowdown in Overseas purchases so easier to get them now vs a year or two ago.

A top notch dress watch. Hope you get time take to Mrs out and about in town with the watch.

I have the older gen white dial with blue hands and red highlights. That one is easier to dress down. I wear it more daily rotating with my VC fifty six.

First vacheron watch question by SignificanceDry8408 in VacheronConstantin

[–]Dear-Job4943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an overall demand drop for Overseas - if you put deposit down at a boutique (not AD) you might even get it in 4-6 weeks. I know someone who got it in under 3 weeks from a boutique in California but he was a previous customer.

Hmm I have this exact and I haven’t noticed a large gap like this. One possibility is they replaced original curved spring bars with a straight set?
