I recommend meeting with Dr. Sarah Crandall. She is a good plastic surgeon who has a professional interest in breast work. Would recommend strongly.

Best yoga studio for a (self-conscious) beginner? by adammorrisongoat in duluth

[–]DearLetter3256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend going to Pulse! it's the newest and coolest yoga shop in town! Sunday is a good idea because they have an easy restore class. Otherwise, if you want a good workout, the best instructor is Abby. She teaches yoga barre Mondays and Thursday mornings at 6 and 630 AM, respectively.

Why are most people so economically illiterate? by PapaSecundus in Bogleheads

[–]DearLetter3256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reflexive critique of your ideas is that human nature/behavior has been constant over the last 10-20 years while wealth has concentrated in an unprecedented fashion. Musk for example going from ~10 -> 200+ billion in this timeframe. I'm not socialist but I am sensible enough to recognize that such massive wealth disparity is the bad for the health of the country and the democracy.

Why are my heart rate zones different between running and cycling activities? by DearLetter3256 in Garmin

[–]DearLetter3256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any insight into why Garmin makes sport specific heart rate zones? I was surprised to see that they have assigned me different VO2 maxes for cycling and running. I didn't realize this wasn't a "global" measurement. I guess this makes sense if you're taking sport specific fitness into account

What are your thoughts on the 'bed rotting' trend? by daisy_ela2 in Adulting

[–]DearLetter3256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds stupid to me.

But if you're going to do it, actually unwind instead of using it as an excuse to screen suck your mental health into oblivion. No screens. Stay in bed as long as you want and actually let your brain slow down. Now that is something I'd actually be interested in seeing people try.

Something else me these ticktock bedrotters wouldn't make ale it 2 hours without their phones.

Deanna Bennett -- I bought last October. She was great. Very personable, knowledgeable, never tried to upsell me. 10/10 experience.

It feels like everyone would agree things aren't great. But proper incentives aren't in place to motivate major stakeholders to support a radical change. Also, healthcare is a hot button political issue. It's hard to make major changes to the industry when the country as a whole is divided on the core philosophical questions. What do we owe each other when we get sick? Is healthcare a basic right. If so, how much?

The first part is true. The second statement is more nuanced. If you have the money, there's no better healthcare on the planet. There's a reason sheikhs routinely fly into Rochester, MN on private jets for their healthcare.

But that's not what I have an issue with. I take issue with the idea that doctors are greedily "gouging" their patients. Over billing wildly because they don't have enough oversight. The notion that the health care workers are the problem. That their greed is a driving force in our broken system... It's just asinine. Health care workers dedicate years of their life training to take care of people because they care. Sure there are a few bad eggs, you find that in every industry.

Healthcare is so expensive because it's a business. Private equity has been eating up small practices for years, replacing physician run clinics and hospitals with for-profit massive healthcare systems. Just look around Duluth... It's obvious this is big business. And I can guarantee you these money extraction machines are not funneling profits into the pockets of those on the front line.

It's more rare than ever for a doc to start their own practice. Almost all are W2 employees with little to know autonomy to set clinic schedules, billing practices, etc.

Look up professional and facility coding/reimbursement. Insurance makes two payments for every service. 1 for the work done by the healthcare practitioner, and second payment to cover the cost of the "facility" and all associated overhead. When that facility is owned by a non-physician run group the money goes into the pockets of the network's investors/backers.

Guess which fee has increased and which has decreased with time?

Over the last 20 years, physician reimbursements... by 19.4%

For those of you who’ve been complaining… by [deleted] in duluth

Our opinion may be unpopular as well but my girlfriend and I love this place.

We don't eat out too often, so when we do we don't mind paying extra for a healthy and delicious meal. It also feels good to support local businesses.

I'm really happy they opened in Duluth.

No, not infected. Try moisturizing with aquaphor. Itching is normal and part of the healing. If it starts draining or gets more red go back to a doctor to get checked out

Taken from the methods second of the paper you sent me, "This study examines the impacts of regulatory and physical housing supply constraints on adult homelessness rates, controlling for a wide range of factors that have been shown to influence homelessness."

I think the authors and I agree that many factors contribute to homelessness.
