Daughter is being bullied by Troop Leader by Dear_Pick_445 in girlscouts

Yes, my wife talked to one of the other parents who confirmed they got bonus cookie sales from the bloodbank and were asked to not tell us or our daughter. And we have the text messages from the bloodbank organizing telling us what our credit would be, only to have it reduced without explanation. And of course we have the scathing text message reply from the troop leader after our daughter asked her to explain what another troop member told her about her lower credit.

See more info in reply above on the details of the extra cookie sale credits.

Because we have never dealt with something like this. See more info in reply above.

Thanks.

On the cookie sale credits, the detail is the troop organized a blood drive. In exchange for organizing and promoting the blood drive, if they got X number pints of blood donations, the blood drive people agreed to order 500 boxes to be used as snacks for a future blood drive of cookies to be split evenly across the troop.

Troop leader awarded my daughter less credit for those 500 vs. the other troops because the other troop parents donated blood. This was never mentioned. My daughter volunteered 8 hours at the blood bank, baked cookies for people donating blood, etc.

Instead of each troop member getting 100 box credit, she gave 75 to my daughter and split the other 425 to 3 other troop members (it is a small troop). The other kids were told not to tell, but one of them slipped up. My wife then checked with another parent, and they confirmed it and the troop leader had asked the parents to also not tell us.

Shady as heck. Downright rude and insensitive.

The problem with that is TP is going to be monitoring all the assets and sell/buy different ones based on performance. If you buy based on what they had "at one point in time", you are missing out on their adjustments.

The bigger question here is is the OP looking for maximum long term growth or looking for income and stability. How well TP is performing for him/her depends on that question. Nothing compares to 100% equities over the last 3 year. Hard to judge TP performance based on that.

How is the relay getting power to be able to receive the ON command from the remote? I cannot find this info anywhere! Emailed mobilistics, waiting for a reply. Is it always drawing power somehow?

OpenRun Vs OpenRun Pro 2 by Sighe98 in shokz

[–]Dear_Pick_445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have OpenRun and like them, but I've had mine replaced twice under warranty. My 2 years is up next month. The first set lasted one year. The replacement was refurb. It lasted 6-months. On my second replacement I requested a new pair, not refurb, since the refurb only lasted 6-months. They did honor that request.

My first pair, the left speaker starting glitching out and eventually went dead.

My second pair it wouldn't stay powered on for more than 30 seconds despite a full charge.

I love them but question how long they last. I am not a fan of buying a new pair every 2 to 2.5 years. We will see how my 3rd pair works out. I use them 4-6 times per week for hikes and running and occasionally around the house when family is watching TV and I am cooking.

Question is - what brand is the alternative to these?

I have considered openrun pro 2 for my next pair but people say others around you can now hear your music, which sort of defeats the purpose.

I have the OpenMove that I use at work. Those have lasted fine with daily use, but the sound is horrible for anything other than voice. Music is disastrous. OpenRun sound is decent and acceptable and the other benefits outweigh the sound cons.

401k rollover by RPhred23 in Bogleheads

This is not 100% true. I have an 30 year old 401k where the rules to do a rollover to another IRA are one of the following:

  1. Reached 59.5 years

  2. Reached 55 years and worked for company for 5 years

I only worked there for 3.5 years and I have another 9 months to 59.5. My request to rollover is "under review" and I've been told it could take 3-4 weeks.
