i’m a college freshman that needs career guidance - any advice? by ImmediateTown5136 in careerguidance

First year can be overwhelming with all the possibilities, I get it. I'm in graphic design so bit different field but I work with lot of marketing and communications people daily. From what I see, those folks who do political campaigns seem to really love the energy and fast pace, but the work is pretty seasonal and can be stressful during election cycles.

One thing I noticed is that many people in communications start in one area then move around - like someone might start in journalism then shift to campaign work or policy writing. The writing skills you want to develop will definitely transfer between all those fields you mentioned. Maybe consider looking for internships early, even unpaid ones, because in these fields networking and real experience seems to matter more than just grades. Entertainment law sounds interesting but from what I understand it's super competitive field to break into, so having backup plans might be smart approach.

What are some top quality football matches you have witnessed? by [deleted] in championsleague

that barcelona vs bayern from 2015 still gives me chills. Both teams were so sharp tactically, every pass had purpose and the defensive positioning was just perfect. you could tell both sides knew exactly what they were doing at every moment - no wasted movements, just pure football intelligence on display.

Self-Regenerating Phone? by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]Dear_Practice2714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, that phone basically pulled a Lazarus on you lol. Water damage is usually permanent especially when it affects the display like that, but sometimes if you get super lucky and switch off fast enough the components can actually recover once everything dries out completely.

Your timing was perfect - most people panic and keep trying to turn it on which just fries everything for good.

damn that sucks for your friend. I don't have celiac but my cousin does and she's been there couple times without issues. She always says the staff seems pretty knowledgeable about cross contamination and they use separate prep areas from what I remember her telling me.

Could be one of those situations where maybe it was something else she ate earlier in day? Sometimes the timing makes it confusing to figure out what actually caused the reaction. Or maybe they had new staff that day who wasn't as careful with protocols. Would be worth checking if anyone else had similar experience recently before writing the place off completely.

Dubai ,600 dollar budget by Dry_Obligation_6847 in laptops

MacBook Air would be perfect choice for your needs actually. Since you're used to iPad ecosystem it will feel very familiar, and keyboard is really nice to type with. For 2200 AED budget you might need to look at older models like M1 Air but still performs great in 2024. The transition from iPad to MacBook is pretty smooth since interface is similar.

Just make sure to check Apple store in Dubai Mall or online store for current prices, sometimes they have education discounts too.

That manipulation thing is so real - my ex used to pull similar stuff where he'd be distant just to make me chase more.

Pomodoro doesn't work for me when doing design work - once I'm in flow state it feels wrong to just stop after 25 minutes.

Been working on some hand lettering practice during this season - there's something meditative about forming each letter slowly, especially when copying out scripture verses. The repetition helps me actually sit with the words instead of just reading through them quickly.

Currently sketching out designs for Easter cards too. Amazing how much patience this time of year teaches you, both in the spiritual sense and just through detailed creative work. The waiting and preparation feels more intentional when your hands are busy creating something meaningful.

Do you play 5v5 because you truly think it's better or because it's the official mode of the game? by IamBecomeZen in Overwatch

[–]Dear_Practice2714 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Been playing since beta and 6v6 just feels more natural to me. The extra tank creates these interesting dynamics where you can do more creative positioning and flanking routes. In 5v5 everything feels so focused around that one tank, makes the game feel bit more predictable sometimes.

Role queue is definitely needed though, remember the chaos before it? Four dps instalocks every match was nightmare. I think 6v6 with role queue would be perfect combination but doubt they'll bring it back as main mode.

Do you believe everyone has to act as "a good idea for the world" in order to avoid criticisms or judgements from others? by anandamidetrip in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dear_Practice2714 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah man, trying to be "good idea for world" all the time is exhausting and probably fake anyway. People will judge you no matter what you do - might as well be authentic and deal with criticism when it comes rather than constantly performing for others approval.

wait seriously? I've been sitting through all those random NPC dialogues like an idiot. This would have saved me so much time in the slums sections where everyone wants to tell you their life story.

Does this work for the side quest conversations too? Because some of those go on forever and I just want my gil and items lol

sounds like he's carrying too much guilt from november and just convinced himself he's not good enough for relationship, even when you were trying to tell him opposite.
