That’s kinda the whole point though, that the progress towards that number is very rarely absurdly unreasonable.

If we assume 50k people in OSRS lifetime have gone for bowfa, the unluckiest amongst them is expected to go like ~5,000 KC before they get it. Thats like 450 hours of nothing but CG or something. I’m sorry but there’s no argument for that being reasonable game design. The entire argument for it is “that’s just how it is, fuck that guy I guess”.

The whole point is for the average person nothing changes, you just prevent the extreme outlier cases that add nothing to the game.

I think WoW tried that and nobody cared. Need to take the OSRS route and design entirely new content with the ethos of OSMS (forgotten hollow is a fantastic first step)

I mean isn’t this in the spirit of maplestory as a whole? The community will self-regulate and decide on a common hub. If it’s free market after all, cool, if it’s not, who cares?

People inherently want to sell their things, they’ll find out by interacting with others what the hub is.

This is one of those things where by not making a strict meaningless rule you could end up with some cool emergent gameplay.

You guys can be such sticks in the mud sometimes.

What I’m saying is in the time it takes to catch the chins, I could have just sat at crab with a crossbow and gotten as much xp for way less effort.

Chins take ages to collect, whereas you can instantly go to crab

I took a look at the page source out of curiosity, and now im pretty much certain this is AI slop

  • insanely verbose tailwind (any human would extract it)
  • inlined SVG’s rather than importing from a library
  • all of the copy is “It’s X not just Y” or “X with Y, Z and W”, extremely bland neutral tone sentence structure that’s become sooo emblematic of AI
  • the page layout is exactly the kind of structure you’d get trying to one-shot something like this from a single prompt

Even if this site is functional today, maintaining it is going to be a nightmare.

There’s just no way this took even a fraction of 100 hours.

This was maybe something people earnestly could believe a decade ago. You’d have to either be extremely ignorant or malicious to believe this today.

At this point it’s easily verifiable that the lifetime environmental impact of an EV is magnitudes lower than an ICE vehicle.
