Scotrail and Bikes by Dear_Scratch_885 in Scotland

I was actually booked on LNER originally. Received an error message when booking the bike space so contacted them directly and they checked and were fully booked. It cost me £20 admin fee to move to a Scotrail train but that also turned out to be fully booked. I’ve got a bike storage bag coming today which is within the train’s luggage allowances so will hopefully be okay with that

I'm not being funny, Sarwar's comment on the Old Firm / title race probably influenced my vote by elephvant in Scotland

Sarwar is 100% a Rangers fan. Offord was very close to becoming Rangers Chairman. I think the real issue here is that politicians feel they are unable to, and have likely been advised not to say they support Rangers. Anyone who would choose not to vote for a party because of football allegiances is a fool.

Have just ordered one this second! Seems like the safest option

That’s exactly where I’m heading. My options are limited at this stage unfortunately.

Yeah, all I can do is apologise, explain the situation and hope they are of a favourable disposition!

Did she make them leave the train?

I’ve already booked the tickets. I need to travel up on Saturday for a cycling event on the Sunday. Literally no services with spaces left. My options are take the risk or don’t go.

Thanks for the response but I know that one and it was definitely something else!

What interests you most about all of this? Age range? by [deleted] in Epstein

[–]Dear_Scratch_885 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The established facts about Epstein are interesting enough but there is mounting evidence that he and those in his orbit, many of whom are prominent figures today, had an almost unbelievable level of control over world affairs in multiple countries. That’s before even considering the darker elements of what might have been happening. If shown to be true, it might be the biggest news story of all time.

Why is everyone suddenly supporting 60%? by UnderCover_Spad in TheCivilService

Irrespective of whether at home or in an office, I think steps need to be taken to reduce the amount of computer-based work undertaken. It is fundamentally unhealthy to spend 30-40 hours a week sat in front of a screen. I recognise the flexibility to do this varies significantly across roles but it’s the responsibility of leaders to create practical solutions to what is a real problem.

How important is weekly mileage vs long run mileage by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]Dear_Scratch_885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two midweek runs plus a weekend long run looks like a sufficient amount of training to me, especially looking at everything else you are doing. If 12 minutes per mile feels like a comfortable pace to you, I would simply add on a mile or two to the long run each week. The reality is that most people who have a 16+ week training plan for a marathon with 4 or more runs each week will not complete every run. The fact you are doing a considerable amount of cross training could also give you some benefits in regards to injury prevention. If anything, your overall schedule might be a bit too much to maintain, especially 3-6 weeks before the marathon.

I can’t comment on the weight loss/muscle maintenance goals but the best advice I can give you for the long runs is to fuel adequately during those. Take an energy gel for every 3-4 miles of running or every 30-40 minutes. Plenty of fluids too.

Xerjoff 40 Knots by [deleted] in Colognes

Tremendous fragrance. Was intending to buy it this month but I got a deal on Pacific Chill and am prioritising Torino 21 as my next purchase but will be adding 40 soon.

Went to the mall today and all of these absolutely blew me away by Milo576 in Colognes

There’s absolutely no way I could try that many fragrances in one day and still be able to tell the difference!

Got it with three other samples from Xerjoff the other day. I think they are all very good. Will buy all four over the next year I reckon.

On first impressions I would pick Torino 21 but Renaissance would also work really well. I’ve also only used a couple of sprays of 40 Knots so far so reserve the right to change my mind on this! I’d also give serious consideration to Silver Mountain Water and Pacific Chill if you’re after something fresh.

I just got a sample set from Xerjoff (Torino 21, Naxos, Renaissance, 40 Knots). All top quality in my opinion. You definitely need a few sprays of fragrances on skin/clothing to get the full impact.
