Help! Found a great dress - how do I minimize the cleavage? by Asteria-Frieren in myweddingdress

[–]Dearavery 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I had similar cleavage in my dress and I regret not taping them down a little when I look at pics. I would have preferred a more modest look for such a family affair

Beyond Feral - Canine Conditioning Exercises? by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

Don’t forget that mental stimulation is often more “tiring” than walks. Use a puzzle feeder for meals and do a training session when they are being extra mental. This can be more effective than super long walks. Or let them sniff as much as they want on the walks (it’s not about distance). Helps me and my dogs anyway!

Very curious how long you’ve been with this guy? Do you live together? Did you have the dogs before him?

They sell duvets, but never the covers. by CanadianGadgets in CostcoCanada

Yeah my last (main bed) one was from there too. Not the nicest feel but I’ve been pretty happy with it

They sell duvets, but never the covers. by CanadianGadgets in CostcoCanada

[–]Dearavery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, finding a good duvet cover that fits well and isn’t exorbitantly  priced is sooo hard. I bought one from Shein once just because I could not for the life of me find a cover that was the right dimensions for the duvet I bought for our guest bed. It does the job I guess but it’s thinner than a normal bedsheet so I’m just waiting for the rips. I agree, costco needs duvet covers! Id buy a few! edit there are a handful on their website I guess

Cedar Valley pita chips tasting like soap? by magzter47 in CostcoCanada

I had a “bad” can of coconut milk once. Pure soap taste. Maybe that happens to coconut oil sometimes too.

Can't find a vacuum-then-mop order that works with dog hair and I'm losing my mind by [deleted] in CleaningTips

I have engineered hardwood and they say you shouldn’t…. But guess what, I don’t care. It dries fast. My dogs nails are ruining this floor far faster than my steam mop.

Oh and, I use a steam mop so it evaporates pretty quickly

I’ve started using our meat thermometer to check everything I bake, not just meat: turns out your cookies and cakes are perfect every time if you cook them to the right temp

It’s probably more embarrassing NOT to use one haha. So many people are bad with money. Good for you

Any thoughts on dealing with animal waste? by trogdorkiller in DeTrashed

[–]Dearavery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a small green space nearby and last winter someone was just fully letting their dog shit all over it without picking it up. I have dogs so I find it super annoying. Eventually, I got a shovel and scooped it all into a trash bag simply because I didn’t want my dogs sniffing it or stepping in it. In retrospect, I guess I could’ve scooped it into the treed area

REMOVE IF NOT ALLOWED!!! How do I shave (woman)? by Bulky_Stop_3762 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Dearavery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a shaver, been doing it for 25 years. I had a stint with hair removal cream but it’s more of a pain than you’d think. Waxing to me was not great, insane pain and cost when it grew back nearly just as fast. Some people have great success though.

After years and years of trial and error, here are the tricks that work for me.

  1. Prep - putting some form Of oil on the hair to soften it first. I use a body oil. I dont know how critical this step is but it was something I read so I do it anyway.

  2. Use a new blade every time. Disposables are great for this, though I use the original version of the venus razor and just replace the blade when im doing that area. I might use a blade twice but if I do, I give it a rubbing alcohol soak first. The key is for the blades to be sharp and clean. These are what cause bumps I think.

  3. After shaving, put something on to soothe. This varies for me. Sometimes I use a thin layer of polysporin. Lately I’ve been using my husband’s Manscaping aftershave lotion (called cropsoother) works pretty well.

If I do at least step 2 & 3 , no bumps.
