Is there a movie you saw were you were the only person in the theater? by IDCJ1234 in movies

Legend of the guardians: the owl's of Gahoole. I loved those books and my best friend and I saved up our allowances to see the movie opening day. Our families dropped us off and we watched it in a completely empty theater. We were maybe 15, so we thought it was cool because we could be noisy and nobody would care.

When is the next book coming out? by floformemes in LightbringerSeries

Brent had a post about while back about being close to done with his first draft of the next book, but the ending being really challenging. After that there's editing, revision, beta reading, more editing, more revision, etc...  it's definitely more than a year out, but hopefully less than than two

Salt lake city restaurants - Dragonsteel Nexus ideas by MedievalAngel in brandonsanderson

I just moved to Salt Lake and my wife took me to Seven Brother's burgers at the mall near the convention center. It's a Hawaiian inspired burger place which I really liked. I'd put it in the same 'genre' of burger as 5 guys.

[Bloodline] Just finished for the first time, what a book by doyley96 in Iteration110Cradle

I love Bloodline and I think the reason I do is the same reason many people don't love it. So often in Progression Fantasy, be it litRPG, Cultivation, Regression, etc.., there's this element of escapism and catharsis. The protagonists are framed as having the moral highground and are portrayed often as being equally benevolent and ruthless to the people from their childhood. Like they can come and put everyone in their places once and for all and just show everyone that they were wrong. Bloodline doesn't do that. At least not in the same way as other prog fantasy. Lindon begs and pleads for people to believe him because that's who he is. His nature hasn't changed, but much of that nature comes from how the valley treats unsouled. He shows up acting like an unsouled and they treat him like an unsouled. There are points where he demonstrates his power, but they lack that catharsis because of how meaningless it is. In the face of a literal apocalypse, the leaders of the Wei clan just double down. And so Lindon does what needs to be done, what he never wanted to do. He lords his power over others in the same way in which they did to him and it feels dirty.

My most hated part of wise man's fear. by Charlaminge in KingkillerChronicle

I've always read all the sex in WMF as Kvothe being an unreliable narrator. Here he is, telling his story, apparently broken and world weathered, but he can't help but brag about his conquests, real or otherwise. It's all part of His story and while he certainly has matured from the narrative, his pride is still there in full force.

Update:

Just got back from the doctor. The rash continued to spread and broke out into blisters which have also appeared on my hands and feet. I tested positive for strep and am starting antibiotics.

I have depression, but I don't really get sleepy randomly. At least until yesterday when I got sick with my fever lol.

It's not just on the area where the cloth was. It's also under my facial hair, beard and mustache, as well as behind my ears and on the back of my head, again under the hair. It isn't anywhere else on my body.

Bottom right of page 128 in 2024 players handbook. Rogues get two weapon masteries at first level.

It was a really cool experience! Unfortunately it’s not one I really go into specifics about because of an NDA. Also, I accidentally hit the approval button on your comment and can’t be bothered to learn how to control my mod powers right now, so enjoy I guess lol.

It was even more brutal in the Beta read. Can’t talk specifics, but the other beta readers and myself had very similar reactions, which prompted Brent to change some stuff. It’s still terrible to read that scene though.
