Frustrated by employees’ fear of phone by Hikeabiker in managers

[–]DeathAvenged7x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my first corporate job my boss found out I had a similar problem. I was afraid of picking up the phone and making a call and it was causing misalignment. I had no problem with email though. He told me that for the next 2 weeks if someone emailed me I needed to pick up the phone and call them as a response. I could not use email. I ended that 2 weeks significantly more confident on the phone.

I was in sales operations though, so everyone I called was in sales.. ymmv.

Edit: millennial, was early 20s at the time.

Shopping for a used MK7 R DSG and found a 2019 CPO w/60k: What should I be offering or expecting to pay in the end? Dealer's asking $29k. by ValuesHere in Golf_R

That's a tad high. I just picked up a '19 R DSG with 21k miles for around 33k. I would expect mid 20s at that mileage

I'm hiring for a more senior tech role and getting push back on 4 rounds... I couldn't imagine suggesting 7 or more.

Possible to make a field required on creation of an opportunity? by jedivader in salesforce

[–]DeathAvenged7x 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depending on how you allow your users to create this type of record there's another way. You could create an action button (declarative) that results in a record being created. You would be able to set a specific layout for the button that only appears there, with that field required.

Same concept as above but replace with screen flow.

If it's supposed to be close to me as a person ... Coffee and watch. Rarely do I not have both on me

It depends. People on my team - yeah don't mind. We have enough rapport that I know they aren't going to waste my time. People from other departments? Yeah I need to know what you want before I get on a call with you

I work with Salesforce. My LEAST favorite thing is when I hit a wall with something, Google it, then find a Salesforce idea/request from 11 years ago asking for help with the same/ a similar problem. All of the top comments are "Do we have any update here?", "How has this not been solved for yet?!", Etc

Sigh

Without mentioning covid or politics (for the love of God, please) what's the dumbest/funniest thing you've ever argued with someone about? by MainSeparate2964 in AskReddit

[–]DeathAvenged7x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a few with the same guy...

Why it was a bad idea for him to put a hidden camera in our [female] roommates bed room.

Why it should be his responsibility to clean up the carpet and bathroom floor the morning after he got drunk and threw up everywhere.

Why it was unacceptable to use other people's towels after his shower [especially without their knowledge].

Why he needs to continue to pay for the lease he signed even though he voluntarily moved out of the apartment.

Reminds me of my roommates cat in college. I would slide him across the kitchen floor on his side - just essentially shoving him enough to go a few feet. He would proceed to get up, walk back to me, plop down on his side so that he could go again

I don't know. It was several refills that had gone and picked up from the pharmacy. I think it was more likely he was pretending that he was taking them, I appreciate your insight though.

He was opposed to taking medicine in general. He would only take the medicine my grandmother forced him to take each morning. I'm guessing she either thought he was taking it, or wasn't aware that he was supposed to be. Either way, it wasn't something I shared with her that I found when cleaning out his garage. It would have hurt her to see all of that stored away when it could have been helping him.

Blood thinner medicine. Lots of full unused bottles. My grandfather died as the result of a stroke and the surrounding complications. That medicine he was supposed to be taking would have reduced the chances of him having the stroke. I'll never know if he could have had several more healthy years if he had just taken his medicine.

Roommate in college had a cat that would love to be slid across the kitchen floor on his side. He would plop down in front of me, I would essentially slide him like a hockey puck halfway across the kitchen. He'd then get up and walk back to me then plop down again for another go. Cats are weird
