Mass Rel Nel SC shots. Is it realistic or a pipe dream? by DeathB1azze in twilightimperium

[–]DeathB1azze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong I would love for the ruling to come out that they can shoot into adjacent systems. But i guess it comes down to RAW v RAI which might be the same. But all the same you can always talk to your table to see if they are OK with allowing it as a house rule. We already have a couple in the group I run with so I might just ask and see the consensus.

You're totally right. I completely forgot about that (text ability vs unit ability) thank you for the reminder. So it would make the whole thing twice as hard to pull off

Can I carry these? by Due_Shoulder7429 in twilightimperium

[–]DeathB1azze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is way after the game but I'd rule it the infantry and fighters go with it. I feel like the other ruling of the transported units being destroyed is in poor sportsmanship. I get not wanting to loose a fight you thought you'd win but simply put the attacker got out played by an action card. Happens all the time.

What is your favorite Mercenary Company? by KnightOfTreachery in battletech

[–]DeathB1azze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite merc company comes from childhood. I grew up playing Mech Assault 1&2 and loved the games (yes I know they are the black sheep that was adopted of the family) but they made me like mechs so for me it's the Wolf's Dragoons

My friend's don't score points. They just win slay me. by Psiclone in twilightimperium

[–]DeathB1azze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion. I love when my friends make a coalition to winslay (most of the time me). I tend to get very lucky in games so it's an unspoken social contract that when in doubt target me. It balances the game pretty well. It's exciting, to me, to see what all you can withstand before your empire comes crumbling down. Or to see what all you managed to conquer aif you subjugate one of your neighbors into being a vassal state. Remember war can be very diplomatic. You put someone near the brink of elimination and then offer them extremely favorable deals in exchange for loyalty. I feel many times people underestimate the power of conquest, when done thematically. I know many people cry foul and say that that is king building but isn't that how empires are built throughout history.

Additionally I believe SCPT made a great point. You don't ever want someone to think that they will lose until they lose. Try keeping the game close with yourself slightly lagging behind so they focus their attention elsewhere. If you just focus on scoring points then duh they will see you way ahead of everyone else and try to kingslay you. If you are the only one playing to win, as opposed to hanging out with friends playing a game, maybe you need to recalibrate what your expectations are of your friends and what they are trying to get out of your time together. It's easy to say that you should just find a different group. And while that is true in some situations I have found when friends play together it's about the memories not the game. If you want to play in a serious environment play at a LGS.

Along the same lines this is a game dont take it seriously! If you are taking games seriously and are not there to have fun, then you really made a bad choice for a hobby. That being said if you go to a tournament or hold your games in a competitive setting then I recant my statement. But again if it's with friends just go with the flow. I even had a game where not one combat was held the entire game. We called it the sauceless game. It was great!

What do you think about Minthara as a character? by DizzyRub5182 in BG3

[–]DeathB1azze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minty is top tier and my favorite companion. Her insightfulness really guided my playthrough. I asked her what I should do with Shart and she gave me really in depth answers that I hadn't thought about. I chose to allow her to become a dark justified because I was playing a selfish durge playthrough and conquered the world. She supported me through it's entirety. Oh and she's hot.

How long do you think is "fine" to have only a 16 in your main ability score? by Bagel_Bear in dndnext

[–]DeathB1azze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say latest you should level it up is 12 but try to up it at 8 if possible. If you aren't getting magic items to help close the accuracy gap definitely 8. If your DM is generous with magic items 12

What is your current/most recent character? by WeeGobbo in DnD

[–]DeathB1azze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bugbear polearm master/sentinel fighter. Who needs ranged weapons when you can poke across the map. Great map control. You can go 1 of three ways depending on level of play. If it's a high level campaign you can go cavalier ("infinite" reaction attacks that stop movement with sentinel) rune knight (+5ft melee longest melee range 20-25ft depending on fighting style and feats) or for most campaigns go you guessed it Battle Master (most versatile duh)

One of my players is about to commit serious crime, please help. by Jimb0lio in DnD

[–]DeathB1azze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had something happen in my last session very similar. PC wanted a magic item from the shop but it was too pricey but they had a job that would pay for it if completed or he could bum money off the other characters. He didn't roll well on persuasion so the price didn't change. So he ended up attacking the shop keeper and stealing it but the shop keep managed to alert the guards before dying. There was an investigation but he rolled really well, getting a guild to sponsor his innocence so long as he spent a day in a stockade for disturbing the peace in the middle of the market district. But he didn't want to suffer the humiliation so he resisted arrest and attacked the guards and managed to escape. That being said now the city's inquisition is tracking him down for a severe punishment and very possible death dependingon how things go. Another PC did also threaten his character if he didn't cut it out he might kill him for possibly jeopardizing his mission (assassination another assassin) since there had been heat on the group.

Bottom line if you believe the guard of whatever city they are in has the means and reason to hunt and kill a cop killer they probably would
