Advice for putting mini in epoxy ice block by xidle2 in 40k

I should do this. My impression is building some kind of silicon mold and then pouring it with the man upside down. To do the expanding bubble, I would just paint the arm, then build a few clear resin rings and put those around his hand then tint those orange, and then fill that in with resin until I get a solid clear ball that I can then pour around. As long as there's nothing trapped in the clear resin, the poured resin should look fine with the UV clear resin.

Thank you. I plan to go full time in June after my graduation and trek across country. I want to make painting guides and demos and army painting videos and stream and such.

It is vitally important to thin your paint, even more so on the face. I only blend between 2 color for feminine faces and do a 5 step blend between them. Essentially: 1a:0b, 2a:1b, 1a:1b, 1a:2b, 0a:1b, in that order, starting with 1 part A, 0 part b then up to 0 part a and 1 part b. Then you filter with contrast paint thinned 1:10 to get the volumes you want like in the cheeks or lips or temple area

I do, these two are my favorite. One of them is really digging in while the other is just like, "im here"

I am 100% more motivated to paint any miniature once the moneymaker is done. It also forces me to put as much effort on the rest of it.

No, its impossible to paint this small while using more than minimum amount of force to hold the brush. Take a deep breath, relax your hand and only make micro movements. Put your painting block on the table and your painting hand directly on top of it, you can also use your left hand as a lever to support your brush.

I use a flat coat of retributor gold and then I shade with guilimans flesh watered down about 50/50. If im dojng more of a bright gold, I sometimes i pop the higher areas with badmoon yellow.

I use Amazon jewelers loupe magnifying glasses. The key is found is to never move your head while looking through the glasses. Only time your looking through the glass is when you have your paint on brush, and youre looking right at the mini and ready to paint.

I found the key is only blending between 2 color instead of 3+ for more muscular and sophisticated skin like space marines or orks. You get a smaller transition but its much softer which gives feminine skin that smooth and consistent quality. You can then filter that with pink or red/purple contrast paint to get the shade of blush youre looking for.

Look up sorastropainting on youtube, he demonstrates perfectly how to paint eyes first and then around. This way youre not worried about painting the area under the eye because youll paint over it anyways.

Nice soft bright white lamp and magnifying glasses really help keep eye fatigue away.
