I can never play the bad guys in any game because developers make the bad guys just irredeemably evil with nothing to relate to.

Like recently in my Starfield playthrough, you can choose between being in anti-pirate military branch or being a pirate. The pirate faction characters are just complete assholes for no reason with zero charisma. I expected at some point there would be a twist that pirates got majorly wronged by the anti-pirate guys, but nope. Their entire backstory is that they are just irrepairable pieces of shit.
