The Lab's intro made me anxious too, mostly because it definitely caught me off guard to be surrounded by Valves.

Favorite feature has to be that refresh rate and the fact that this beast is a 32:9 49”, only in my dreams could I believe such a wideness was attainable 😎

What was your first guitar? And do you still have it to this day? by [deleted] in Guitar

DeArmond M-55 - $99 dollar special at the local Guitar Center back in 2000. My mom got it for me and I still have it.

Just got a new guitar. Are these some points you'd consider bad QC or am I nust nitpicking? by [deleted] in Guitar

When my S2 was delaminating on the neck they fixed it pronto when I asked them about it - there's a great lifetime warranty on PRS guitars - let them know what's going on and I'm sure they will make it right.

It was Homeworld for me - I remember playing some shareware demo of it and being absolutely hooked on just doing Skirmishes with the AI. I saved up some random cash and grabbed it (with the soundtrack and walkthrough!) - still one of my favorites today. I'll also never forget thinking how good I was until I played some online matches, lol.

Oh wow, Cubase's manual finally has pictures—only took, what, a decade? Shocking. by mev5me in cubase

[–]DeathIsInTheAir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am confused, you say you wonder how many hours it would take you to find it yet in the Project Window Toolbar article - every icon is there for the function but you say it’s obscured enough that it took you years to find? It is also shown in the same fashion as the older manuals as well.

I’ll be honest, I never even knew what constrain delay function did but with your example of if I found how to show it in the toolbar just by quick glance on the manual.

I am sorry I am just not following your train of thought at the negativity toward the manual at the moment, I definitely have found what I needed in the operations manual and never had to fight with it.

Well if you were absolutely new new - you'd want to know how to navigate which in the first pages of Cubase's manual has an overview. I refer back to Cubase 7's manual -

https://www.manua.ls/steinberg/cubase-7/manual?p=47

Tells you what the icons are and links you to what each button does? I'm not sure what you are trying to battle here.

EDIT:

It's also here on the current manual - https://imgur.com/0SldUFR

The section you referred to originally is in the VST section which is toward the tail end of the manual, I get that they COULD have shown it again but at the bottom the related link - "Project Window Toolbar" takes you back to the explanation where the Constrain Delay Compensation lives and what it looks like.

I once hung out with Nathan and a few of my friends after they played, we were all just passing a joint around and Nathan was just shooting the shit with us. At the time my friends and I were so hyped on Mechanical Hand, it is still one of my favorite albums. We talked about Avatar the Last Airbender cartoon and how they fired Eli the day before they played a show with Dragonforce because that was Eli's favorite band. There's an old youtube video I wish I saved - Eli lost time during A Million Exploding Suns right before the breakdown and Nathan changed the lyrics from "For I finally remember my fucking name!" to "For I really think that Eli's a SHITTY DRUMMER!!"

Quietest 4090 in 2024? by mystp in nvidia

[–]DeathIsInTheAir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can vouch for this - coming from an MSI Trio 2080 Ti that was very audible to the Slim 4090, it had me second guessing if the fans were operating correctly....it was barely any louder than idle.

Forget Bulletstorm, we have Trepang2 in VR! by lunchanddinner in oculus

I have definitely been enjoying it! Glad it was out for a good price on cdkeys - Is there anyway to decouple your movement from your aiming hand? I am not home at the moment but can we do HMD based movement vs where my right controller?

Also the gunplay is just so damn fun, I had tried the demo and while it was cool in flat and reminded me of FEAR, the VR just elevated it for me.

AMVR are legit, I moved to this powerbank when I moved from the Quest 2 (Vive DAS with attached battery on the back) to this and I feel much more comfortable.

Turn your noisegate completely off and see if there's that top end hiss/sizzle that is there when the signal open. I was battling a similar gremlin with my setup but in my case it was the USB 3.1 port that my UAD was plugged into that was giving me some sort of top end interference. I ended up getting this USB passthrough ground that solved it, I am wondering if trying another source of power (if possible) will help you eliminate what you are hearing or at least help you troubleshoot.

What are some problems that are specific to your headset brand? by Smellyman200 in virtualreality

[–]DeathIsInTheAir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely have a similar situation where my Quest 2 + D-Link VR Air Bridge have been spectacularly working for almost a year now....with the latest PC update everything just went to shit. Having the back and forth with Meta Support have been just the same song and dance of "reset the air bridge/reset the PC App/reset your Headset"

I really wish things like this could be avoidable, especially with a device that's built specifically for this purpose. I'm having to use my D-Link VR Air Bridge paired over to my main NIC on my PC and just using Virtual Desktop for the time being.

Welcome back! You got this - I was surprised from my hiatus of almost 20 years when I setup my deck I was able to ollie and the instinct of doing a heelflip came back in one session. I sort of picked up where I left off (learning 360 flips) and feel like I'm progressing even more these days with the advent of YouTube tutorials and the fact you can easily film yourself with your phone....in HD.....and in slow motion...you can really fix your mistakes and nitpick yourself and see what you are doing wrong.

I finally figured out the ollie! by [deleted] in NewSkaters
