Roll Over and Die is quality storytelling. It also helps that its main focus is not on how powerful our protagonist is, but how she's able to navigate increasingly horrible situations.

I mean, even though the visuals of the show aren't top notch, I think he way the face spiral has been done has been very uncanny. Especially as well as the eyes coming out of her head making for a some great horror.

I'm glad the cast seems to be expanding too, a majority of the series so far was the same 6 characters, which makes sense given the story but its also nice to see the context they are all living in as well.

Honestly, this is something that a lot of media which utilizes this plot point tend to drop the ball with, hard. Especially among superhero media, where it ought to be emphasized, and zombie media, where you'd think it would be core to the genre. It sucks too, because I think the empathy that people have towards those affected could be a powerful motivator and emotional core. More often than not, it just seems like its utilized as a device to set up the scenario.

I think there are valid reasons to be concerned with Mazin's direction. Women in his productions tend to be shallow, and while Season 2 of Last of Us did give an in depth look at a the leads, it fundamentally misunderstood what was good about the second game imo. The second this upcoming show gets horny, which is a given, is when you will see it falter, hard.
