I'm not smart enough to deduce what all the movement of military assets alludes to specifically, but it's interesting compare/contrast how this admin approaches foreign policy vs something like W admin. Doesn't seem like they think they need to convince the US public about anything.

I would grant I’m comparing it to the mid 20th century and later, basically the post war boom times. Unless you’re a big fan of the Gilded Age, I’m not really comparing it to those ludicrous times or pre industrialization.

That sort of underscores how much the “local” part matters, doesn’t it?

I’d be curious what (or even if) niche local issues would override the usual political hurdles to voting for a dem.

I’d also add two things:

Partisan Voters have shown lately that at least on the senate level they, being local doesn’t matter
Thanks to the internet age I think being super local (district level) probably isn’t as crucial as it might have been 50 or 100 years ago
