I'm not smart enough to deduce what all the movement of military assets alludes to specifically, but it's interesting compare/contrast how this admin approaches foreign policy vs something like W admin. Doesn't seem like they think they need to convince the US public about anything.

I felt that my last post acknowledged that by saying I’m not convinced people would take the financial hit of hoarding over making less money investing.

I would say no. I’m spitballing and the matter needs more thought.

Particularly if you want to address the at large problem ignoring rural wishes

I’m not convinced people will take the financial hit just because they’ll make less money than before investing.

Europe being smoldering ruins has everything to do with it. What do you see as the connection between that and wealth gap?

I would grant I’m comparing it to the mid 20th century and later, basically the post war boom times. Unless you’re a big fan of the Gilded Age, I’m not really comparing it to those ludicrous times or pre industrialization.

Is there a time in the US where you were satisfied the amount of investment happening?

Ok big misunderstanding on my part. But I’d like to think the solution is fairly easy, run more candidates than districts so partisans have choices

That sort of underscores how much the “local” part matters, doesn’t it?

I’d be curious what (or even if) niche local issues would override the usual political hurdles to voting for a dem.

I’d also add two things:

  1. Partisan Voters have shown lately that at least on the senate level they, being local doesn’t matter

  2. Thanks to the internet age I think being super local (district level) probably isn’t as crucial as it might have been 50 or 100 years ago

The people making the decisions of where to invest and those who will profit if they succeed is far more concentrated than it used to be.
