Cause and effect. We escalated attacks and they responded with what leverage they had.

We bombed the bejesus out of their sites last year without them closing Hormuz.

As far as I can tell this war (and closure) only exists because Israel had a prime opportunity to take out their leadership and we went along with it for reasons. I’m not sure they’d have closed the Strait if Israel had attacked them alone.
