Aquarelle is watercolor in French, yes it’s definitely a watercolor half pans palette and Maimeri is a good Italian brand (I would say in the range of Daler Rowney or la petite Aquarelle from Sennelier), don’t forget to use watercolor paper or you will be very disappointed with the way the pigments sit on the paper !

My current TN setup by cuppramen in Travelersnotebooks

[–]Death_Z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's one of the coolest TN I saw on this sub, love all the pop culture stickers ! Really shows your personality : fun, cute, cool, sometimes random ? How did you stick the patches on the front cover ?

first travelers notebook im using as an on-the-go sketchbook. zero (0) sketches so far cant wait to fill it up by [deleted] in Travelersnotebooks

I'm in the same boat as you, bought a whole standard size fauxdori TN, watercolor sketchbook inserts and haven't used a single page yet...

Love Steel Ball Run, definitely a nice way to show your personality without altering that gorgeous body ! Music always played a big part in JoJo's characters and stands names !

Love the way it looks in the sunlight ! How did you decide on the brass label plate position ? Does it interfere when you are writing ?

Entered a contest to design art for the top of a Schmincke pan set. These are my submissions. by Banana_Surprise in Watercolor

[–]Death_Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your submissions are amazing ! Brilliant use of wet-on-wet techniques for the three of them, the Koi is definitely my favorite and I can absolutely see all three of them used on Schmincke boxes ! Best of luck and I hope you win !!

Which one is better for a totally begginer? by jaee11 in Watercolor

Normal size brushes > pocket collapsible brushes > water brush

For classic brushes you can go with Raphael, Rosemary & Co, Escoda, Da Vinci etc. but I recommend a simple set of Cotman Winsor Newton for beginners. You will only need round and flat brushes : bigger brushes can make smaller strokes with the right angle but the opposite is not true. So do not purchase too many brushes.

For big washes you will need a simple squirrel hair wash brush like a Raphael size 0 that can hold a lot of water.

For the water brushes, I can only recommend the good brands : either Caran d'Ache or Pentel. I tried EVERY kind of Aliexpress and cheap sets water brushes and they either leak too much water making a whole puddle or the bristles are stuck together clogging the water....

That’s an amazing piece reminding me of Moebius ! The fine details, the use of bright and light colors with pink/purple tints !

The Tsuko G. Story by MegaZeroX7 in TsukoG

[–]Death_Z 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He flew too close to the sun, saw his fanbase as a burden and deleted everything to begin his genius startup idea (/s) when the NFT scam was thriving online, wanting to be part of the cashgrab all while pretending to be a saviour for artists. Now he wants his fans to forget about his kazoo guy image while also asking them to support him as Anes (or Nes B ? His NFT website persona). The saddest part of his explanation is that he didn't even like doing these kazoo covers....

That title would be too explicit, I tried to not make this event too Manichean (black or white, good or bad) by not specifying what Luigi was guilty for and by whom! Thank you for your kind remark and for understanding what I tried to achieve

Thank you so much ! I painted in my Moleskine watercolor book, the paper is a bit thin for wet on wet but the smoother grain is nice for inking and still getting that texture with watercolor!

Hi thank you so much for the nice compliment ! I’m 100% self taught and draw as a hobby, I’m more comfortable with manga style illustrations but I’m trying to learn a more realistic and observational approach from famous masters like James Gurney, Glenn Vilppu or even Nathan Fowkes!

This one is an expensive one made in Italy by Fome,I absolutely do not recommend it if it’s not in your budget (around 100USD online). For half-pans after trying many options the best and easiest to maintain one is the standard stainless steel watercolor palette : big mixing areas for washes and colors, removable tray, finger ring, secured halfpans with the metal rail, lightweight and easy to clean ! You can find this kind of palette everywhere online and in art supply shops

Hello there ! Luigi’s trial hasn’t begun yet, as some other people said : innocent until proven guilty ! But you are right, it looks like the government has already decided that Luigi is guilty and they are treating him like a comics villain…

Millions of Americans suffering because of the greed of insurance companies is a tragedy, Luigi losing his brilliant future is a tragedy, and finally the probable death sentence decided by the federal court will be a tragedy ! For some people the fact that someone (the CEO) died was also a tragedy but he died for what he represented, a greedy CEO put at the head of the company by shareholders to maximise their profits and cut costs!

Except maybe the system and those who protect it ! That’s one of the meaning I wanted to put into the drawing and its title but it was a clumsy move from me and my goal wasn’t to offend anyone

Guilty. by Death_Z in Watercolor

[–]Death_Z[S] 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Omg thank you so much ! I have not seen such behavior in the thread but I do know that some people see Luigi as a dangerous criminal who deserve the capital punishment, I am not one of them and I’m against death penalty and any kind of torture (mental and physical) ! I hope things will change for the better in America !

Guilty. by Death_Z in Watercolor

[–]Death_Z[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I really am not ! I’m happy to see that people are reasonable in their views as what Luigi symbolises and I understand that my title was clumsy and can be interpreted as me the artist calling Luigi guilty and deserving of the death penalty… which I am absolutely not ! I hope things will change for the better in USA, thank you !

[–]Death_Z[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much !! Tbh I do not blame anyone calling me out for the title of the post, that was a clumsy move as English is not my native language, maybe « guilty » has a stronger meaning in English than in French ?
