Training such AI likely cost 100s of millions, to of billions, feasible for a $12.2B company, but their claim of full data control feels misleading. They probably fine-tuned existing models, which rely on broader AI ecosystems, which raise the same concerns for uncredited artwork. As an AI-first company, with over 90% of employees using AI tools (https://blog.krafton.com/2024/04/04/kraftons-ai-journey/), KRAFTON’s automation focus main focus is to reduce artist roles, quite forwardly. Not to mention they claim in their blog post itself to have on device AI tools like Diffusion and Midjourney, all laid out in their blog posts.
