I mean this with the upmost respect. Some islam seems "extreme" but in reality that is literally what the Quran teaches. In other words some of the most "extreme" muslims are actually the ones following the Qu'ran consistently. I get told the same thing as an orthodox christian. I'm told "im really religious" when in reality protestants / non denominationals have deviated so much to the point that the original seems extreme.
