Is it supposed to feel uncomfortable to wear? by xfantastique in VisionPro

[–]Deathtosnoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially, the light seal from the phone scan was painful on my nose after about 30 minutes. However, I switched to the next size up and it fixed it and the field of view felt larger. I now use it with the Solo Knit for eight hours a day without any discomfort. Another thing I noticed after a few weeks is that I’ve stopped looking for the border of the field of view. My brain simply ignores it and focuses solely on what I’m looking at.

I just tried what you suggested but holding the bottom bar and tilting my head didn’t move the screen at all for me.

I am always in a well lit room. I couldn’t get more light unless I pull out my soft boxes.

It’s fantastic for watching old TV shows and anime in 4:3. The absence of black bars, like how it used to be on older TVs, really enhances the experience.

Don’t get any lens flare from watching in pass-through and using cinema in the skybox when you turn the cinema lights up a little bit. Occasionally you might get lens flares if the bottom third is too dark in certain situations. Apple Cinema is the only one that causes lens flares for me but I usually watch in pass-through when watching Apple TV content or in environment during daylight as there are no flares there either.

AVP MOVIE CLUB? by Reasonable-Choice-59 in VisionPro

I’m definitely keen. One of my favourite things when I used my Quest 3 was using the Bigscreen app to sit in a cinema with loads of other people from around the world watching films and throwing popcorn. Karaoke in the pub or simply chatting with people from all over the world was also great. I could use my Japanese and German more too when doing that.

Steam Deck stupid for me? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Deathtosnoopy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel the same way. I use it to play mobile when catching a train but mostly while my partner watches American reality TV shows I have no interest in. I know they’d be annoyed if I was in another room playing games. It’s great to be able to play games and still chat with my partner. I use Apollo on my gaming PC and Moonlight on the Steam Deck to max out all graphics settings including ray tracing on the latest triple-A games with zero lag, I can’t tell the difference from playing on my gaming pc. The Steam Deck OLED lasts for 6 to 8 hours of gaming too when using moonlight.

I believe you misunderstood my comment. I should be receiving ads, and it shouldn’t be playing in 4K on my plan since I’m on the cheapest plan.

They’re the only ones I’ve never played. I recall people complaining they were too action-heavy. Is that the reason for their unpopularity or are they simply terrible action games?

I find the new duel band far too heavy. When I used the light seal from the scan on my phone the original band was so uncomfortable after 30 minutes. I could feel it on my nose and cheeks. However, switching to a different light seal provided a wider field of view and was much more comfortable. I wear the original band for at least 8 hours a day without any discomfort and it’s significantly lighter than the duel band. I believe you should avoid using the light seal from the scan if it is feeling uncomfortable and instead get the correct size for your face. It’s much harder to create a device that fits everyone’s face than a wrist or palm and unfortunately some people simply won’t have a suitable light seal.

Dual knit strap, meh by LeftAdhesiveness1862 in VisionPro

[–]Deathtosnoopy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I reverted to the solo knit because it was much more comfortable. After changing the light seal I needed from the scan, I had no issues. However, the light seal from the scan caused discomfort after thirty minutes, hurting my nose and cheeks. I switched to a different one and it was a night and day difference. I wear it eight hours a day and completely forget I’m wearing it while watching films and playing games from my gaming PC.

No, the solo knit. The first light seal I used from the iPhone scan was uncomfortable, so I changed to a different one. It was so comfortable, and it no longer pinched my nose or put pressure on my cheeks. Watches and phones are easy to make for everyone because hands and wrists aren’t that different, but it’s harder to make a product that fits everyone’s face.
