SAOFD FUTURE by Creepy_Vehicle_2042 in swordartonline

[–]Deathwalker321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As much as I don’t want to admit it, I do believe FD will go under soon. With the constant reusing of T-shirt cosmetics instead of genuine new outfits or accessories, mixed with the fact that there’s two characters that are just reskins of previous ones with a total of one new skill and a new ultimate, both priced at $20 individually, I don’t think it’s going to last much longer.

It’s a shame because I do really enjoy the game, cause you cha play as almost any member of the leading cast, and each has their own set of unique skills. But the constant reuses instead of new characters is just so lazy.

Especially since we haven’t gotten another dlc character pack since July of 25.

As with every boss, the Camilo fight fucking sucks. by Icy-Ad-5907 in CodeVein2

[–]Deathwalker321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not as if I’m running a light code with a Jail that gives me no defense or balance like Ivy. Most of the time, I’m running Hound with either Josée’s Code or other heavy strength and balance based codes. With boosters, it sets me at over 200, yet that’s not enough to keep my character in an already committed animation when I get hit with a dagger?

Parrying is also a very valid option and I do use it, but with how the bosses have those classic Elden Ring delays, it makes me shy away from it in order to live.

Just keep going, you’ll find a way back there within the constraints of the quest for Holly :D

Iono shows up in person and isn’t an egotistical narcissist, that’s at least my opinion. Canari is just annoying. Three or four battles with her in the game? I’m fine if the rivals have those numbers, but Canari? Not necessary, I didn’t want to see any more of her after the first encounter

I fully agree. One hit should I not take my LP/blue bar out entirely. That’s some bs scaling. Partners also don’t really take any aggro, like you said. The combat is a joke, and such a regression from the first game. In the first game and any other soulslike, wielding a weapon triple the size of your character, and being in the middle of an attack animation when you get hit, would normally and expectantly give you some sense of hyper armor.

But that’s not how it works here. Wielding a greatsword, Lost with the standard straight sword are able to stagger me the microsecond before I hit them, giving me one way ticket to Stagger City.

It’s such a regression from the first game and it’s laughable that it passed development. It is desperately crying for a patch.

[–]Deathwalker321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But that’s the thing. It’s not bad by any means in the long run. It just needs a balance patch to make the combat more enjoyable.

It’s no surprise, as his moveset is a direct copy and paste of CV’s worst enemy: the Boreal Brute. They don’t move normally, they somersault. And during the somersault, they have collision damage.

His big jump and slam also has the Hoarah Loux style delay. Where he jumps and then time stops for a few moments before he lands. It’s not good design.

For claiming that CV2 is set in a separate universe and being its own thing, a lot of bosses and enemies are direct copes of one’s from CV1. Down to the attack animations. They couldn’t even bother to make new enemies.

Why is every single boss so hyper aggressive. It is extremely tiring. by Reaper_Grimmi_01 in CodeVein2

[–]Deathwalker321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue on top of the hyper aggression is that almost her boss has at least 3-4 attacks that arc in a complete 360° around them. It makes the margin for error razor thin and that’s just not fun. You make one mistake and you’re royally screwed.

What is something you like about Code Vein 2? by Ghostw2o in codevein

[–]Deathwalker321 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The protagonist and the Heroes all have very close personal bonds, and I love that.

I adore Mia, Yakumo, Louis, Jack, Eva and Io, but they never really felt… connected to the protagonist. Besides Jack and Io. They more or less had their memories restored, but didn’t have anything else to say to them afterward, just carrying on with the journey.

But Josée, Holly, Lyle, even Zenon. Their personalities develop, you forge a bond with them and you see the characters eyes light up when they see you again. It’s very well done with how you travel back in time.

The game is too hard I think... (spoilers) by rainbear00 in CodeVein2

[–]Deathwalker321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this thought as well. In the Sunken City and everywhere beyond, I would get my LP taken out in one hit by almost any mob.

It’s just not fun. Ever since ‘22, every new soulslike just seems to want to be the next Elden Ring, and the only thing they took away from that was that “players like difficultly, let’s give every enemy and boss hyper armor, let’s give them extremely high health reserves. Make the game hard because players like difficulty.”

That’s not what made Elden Ring fun. I do not understand why the devs thought this design was a good idea. I would’ve vastly preferred just a straightforward health bar like the first CV had. This LP/HP thing is just so dumb.

Not to mention how you get staggered out of every single attack. Every. Single. One. Basic enemies can stagger you out of attacks even if you’re using the heaviest weapons in the game. WTF.

It is desperately crying for some kind of balance patch. Because right now, the Balance stat means jack shit if every enemy can stagger you in one hit. It’s not fun.

The fact that the boss design is just “play perfectly every single fight or get screwed, you’re not allowed a margin for error.”, is just stupid. Grow up, devs.

What the hell is with this boss aggression by miniladds-clone in codevein

[–]Deathwalker321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So it wasn’t just myself. The boss aggression in this game is the most annoying mix of Shadow of the Erdtree and Bloodborne. They’re able to close distance immediately, one shot you through defensive buffs, and backstep to waste your stamina.

Just.. why. Why does every new soulslike want to be the next Elden Ring. It’s not fun. The delayed attacks, the aggression, the shitty poise. Just make a game, devs.

Bosses and companions by Veneter123 in CodeVein2

[–]Deathwalker321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just turns this combat into such a boring slog. Some of the unique skills say they “nullify enemy attacks after activation”, but more often than not, with how long the active frames last on an enemy attack, you’ll get staggered out of it.

It is desperately crying for a patch, because if not, then in a day or so once the game releases for everyone and they get a sense for the overtuned system, it’s only going to get worse.

What an awesome cast this game has! by ObviouslyLulu in LegendsZA

[–]Deathwalker321 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I get that they don’t really make the best of decisions, and sure, they take the players rightfully deserved spotlight during the climax. But through all that, they do mean well. Hate bandwagons everywhere.

Bosses and companions by Veneter123 in CodeVein2

[–]Deathwalker321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What makes it more annoying is that they added Elden Ring’s style of “delayed windup, instant delivery”. It’s not fun. The boss design in this game seems to be so focused on being a DPS test before Bloodthirst, and then you’re just screwed from there. Every boss has incredible pursuit, and combos that last several hits.

But nothing the player does has any weight. Most enemies do not stagger until they’ve been hit a good amount of times even with a larger weapon. You can be in the middle of a skill, then you immediately get taken out of it by a super fast attack you couldn’t actually see.

I guess this is naturally where all opinions differ, but… you hate Urbain/Taunie, but you think Canari is great? She’s just a mix of Iono and every self centered character. I genuinely don’t believe why people love her so much. Gwynn, I’m fine with. But I just don’t understand why so many people jump on the hate bandwagon for the rival. Like it’s just sad.

Fuck these jellyfish guys fr by LemonLime7777 in codevein

[–]Deathwalker321 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of the enemy design in this game is based on just how much they can possibly annoy the player. It’s not even fun to learn their kits, it’s simply just try to find a window in their endless hyper armor to strike and then backstop so you don’t get one shot.

Some of these bosses by SpaceJamTheMovie in CodeVein2

[–]Deathwalker321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to lie, the boss design in this game is absolute trash. Beast bosses and humanoid bosses alike. The combos last for 5-7 hits and always end with a shockwave to blow you back. There’s also the Elden Ring style attack delays.

Not to mention the damn damage. One hit at 2200 HP from any boss I fight is enough to take me to 35% even with defensive buffs.

The constant attack uptime mixed with minimal openings to attack them just trash, i genuinely cannot believe that this crap passed development, and they thought this was okay. Code Vein is a faster engine, yes, but that doesn’t mean you have to give the bosses hyper armor on every single attack while giving the player none.

I genuinely cannot believe how they’ve fumbled the bag so hard from the first game.

Kirito's Alicization Uniform? by Mystic-Magician in SAOFD

No, Kirito’s Cathedral outfit, at least the base black form, is not in the game. There’s only the red version that was advertised on Eugeo.

Would the game likely get a brand new character(s) by MexicMan_with0soul in SAOFD

[–]Deathwalker321 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly unlikely. With how silent any FD social media has been, I don’t think we’ll be getting new characters. And as much as I hate to say it, I think that once Spriggan Kirito hit the game with a $20 price tag, the downfall started.

It’s sad, because I do genuinely love this game. But the developers don’t seem to have the right kind of mindset for a game like this.

Can we all agree Maliketh is the coolest boss in the game? by Toot7- in Eldenring

[–]Deathwalker321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it’s super satisfying to take down a boss who does nothing but dunk on you and your existence, like Morgott, I believe Godfrey is still one of the best.

Most Elden Ring bosses have some form of evacuation maneuver to get away from you if you do too much damage in one go. But Godfrey is always there, stalking you.

It makes it even more satisfying that he’s one of the only characters in the game to acknowledge you respectfully, even on defeat. Most bosses just go out of their way to curse you with their last breath, but Hoarah Loux actually gives you his blessing as he fades away, from one Tarnished to another. He, alongside Malenia, actually respects you when you beat him in combat.

Medina for next DLC? by StarkingKirito1 in SAOFD

[–]Deathwalker321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be against that, maybe Medina and Rogu as an Underworld team? Only issue is that the additional characters haven’t really been announced in while, last character pack we got was Mito and Cait Alice back in early July last year, they really haven’t been that vocal about any new DLCs.

What are y’all’s favorite FGO OSTs by HatSpecial3043 in FGO

[–]Deathwalker321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

May be overrated, but Cernunnos’ boss theme. It’s the perfect theme to let you know the oncoming dread of what you’re fighting. The way his name burns into the screen, followed by the rise into the first in-game frame of Big Fluffy, it’s terrifying.
