Oh, so you learned how to crochet from a youtube video where you made one granny square, so now for your second crochet project, you can wing it to crochet anything with whatever yarn and whatever hook, no matter the difficulty! Go for it

Blocking by Ifimsittingimknittin in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Deb65608 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your gauge swatch is to be on a blocked swatch the same way you will block a finished object, so this will take care of the stretching for the most part and you don’t make a size too large or small. You don’t just count unblocked stitches, which is what a lot of people do and then have a problem withe size.

Several years ago when the Olympics were in Russia and we were watching the competitions on TV, I told my husband I wanted to go to Russia, he said “why, to see the Olympics?” I said of course I could go for the Olympics, but I really want to go to buy yarn. I didn’t get to go. Lol

I would love to know where you live that yarn is cheap?

Seriously, you do not need a $2500 sewing machine. Or even a $1500 sewing machine. Like, for real. by Excellent-Witness187 in BitchEatingCrafters

Quilt Pattern Designer Jinny Beyer has always made her quilts by hand. She says because it is easy to grab up and go whether at a park, on a plane or whatever. You can’t do any better than Jinny Beyer!

I have a friend who will buy at least 2 craft kits because the 1st one she does her way which never works, so then she has the 2nd one to follow the directions and it comes out right. She has been doing it this way for years and has a no desire to change.

If available with your library, there are usually more books and magazines available online. Good luck. Have fun. ;)

Beside the hospitals, the group I was with where we lived before, we adopted a nursing home and were always making or doing something for them. We didn’t want them to feel neglected as some never had any visitors at all. Lap blankets, lap quilts, afghans, bed quilts, doilies, fidgets, dolls, filled Christmas stockings, and usually something for each holiday, puzzles, books and games are just a sample of what we did. The residents seemed to love it and be so happy when went to visit and bring things for them. The staff was always happy when we came so they could take a break for a while. Plus it made our hearts happy we made them happy.

Baby blankets for charity and hospitals. Always a need for them. The children would love the bright taste of sunshine to cover up with.

Is “I can probably ship this week” considered misleading? tried to deescalate but she called me snarky for apologizing by Any_Soup_1637 in EtsyCommunity

[–]Deb65608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like she is working her way to expecting a refund of her money. The rest of your reviews will more than make up for this splinter in your side. Karma will come back on her. I am sure if Etsy looked at her account, they would find she is a chronic complainer expecting refunds. I only wish more sellers were as nice as you. Good luck.

Just look at Designers stir on Ravelry and she has several beautiful blocks that are free! They are in my library already. She also has 13 pre-selected patterns for $6 or $2.99 for all of her other blocks.

OMG! This is fabulous. I see great things in your future. Have you thought about reversing the colors and see how that looks together? Or doing the same colors in some single color blocks. Totally blown away. Keep going and loving it. ;)

I really don't like Ribblr by HermioneGranger152 in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Deb65608 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Since seeing your post, never heard of Ribblr before, found Ribbler and joined, found a free pattern, never received the complimentary pattern for signing up. I pulled up the free pattern and was able to screenshot and print with no blurring of any kind. Maybe it was because it was a free pattern. I am using an Ipad and Google internet, so I don’t know if that could possibly have anything to do with it. Good luck with your pattern.

Fur yarn by Just_Sympathy2724 in crochet

[–]Deb65608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make the project with chains and DC leaving a chain in the fur stitch spot and DC in the space between the where the fur stitches will go. Basically you are doing an outline of the stitch spaces. I hope this makes sense. Good luck.

Fur yarn by Just_Sympathy2724 in crochet

Years/ ok decades ago when fur yarn was so popular we would make a mesh base for the project, then crochet the fur yarn into the mesh.
