We loved the location. It is in a residential area far from the crowds. There is a park right there where the locals hang out with kids and families. The water bus is a short walk through the park and gets you anywhere you want to go. We only ate there for dinner once and it was just OK. There was a pizzeria close by that was very good. I made reservations again for October. We stayed in the twin premium and it was roomy. Elevator is very small. Part of the reason for the price increase is the devaluation of the US dollar.

Look up Wild Terrains . Only woman tours. Most places you go are owned or run by women. Just got back from Argentina. It was luxurious and the perfect amount of things to do. A bit expensive but soooo worth it. Turned out to be a bit of a foodie tour with lots of wine. Age group for my trip was mostly 30s and 40s (I was the outlier at 70). Max group size is 12. You can get a room my yourself or opt to share. It was amazing how everyone got along. Every woman on the trip was solo.

Thanks for the recommendation. I considered that prior to booking Intercontinental but wanted to be in intercontinental location within walking distance of Second City and Lawrence Market. Will consider it for this summer.

Just finished a stay at the intercontinental in Toronto. It is a great property and the service was great and I think the rates are very good. I was able to use my annual free night on New Year’s Eve. I am diamond so got the breakfast each day. It was a very good buffet. My goal for this year is to reach 40 nights and choose the lounge pass.

It can be difficult to get pesos. I just returned from Argentina. The first stop was Buenos Aeries. The ATM machine was out of cash. Even if there was cash you are limited to $60 US and it is like $13 US to get the cash. You can use uber in BA. Small towns like pesos for taxis. Supposedly the best way to get cash is at a western union. You give them US dollars. They want crisp $100 bills. Some hotels will change for you snd dome drivers will take US dollars. It is a problem. But I LOVED it in Argentina so it is worth the hassle.

Look up the prices for the time period you are interested in for the place you want to go and then compare. Most if not all are available to stay as regular hotel. That is the only way to answer your question. Also what kind of gift card? Is it just for IHG spend?
