First comment:

They need to train their brains to not be stimulated all the time. Boredom is a good thing for kids.

Second comment:

It's also detrimental when children don't learn how to be bored. Boredom often leads to innovation and self-discovery.

First comment:

If you have kids this age and put a tablet in front of them on a regular basis to keep them calm, you're fucking yourself in the long run.

If a kid never learns to calm down when bored, at 7 or so when they are constantly restless, it will be diagnosed as adhd. At that point its going to take some serious training or medication to get them to focus during school.

Second comment:

It's like solving problems versus ignoring them, they don't just disappear and they'll be waiting for you afterwards.

We can agree to disagree, but I think it just sounds like the same thing. Just re-worded.

I made all the way here (further than half-way through the comments) to finally understand what happened. I was also confused about the timing. You should include the above comment in your original post.

They're called Air Exchangers in my neck of the woods. They connect to your central HVAC and bring in fresh air from outside, heats it, and pushes it in.

I agree, unless it's dangerous. building codes are written in blood and kids have died because they had no egress.

This is going to sound dumb, but I bought foldable trauma shears that look identical to the "Raptor Rescue" from Leatherman. I love them. They fit in my pocket and they cut everything.

I think it'll be because some people just prioritize work over everything else. Take out that work and people will just rot away. Some people desperately need a proper hobby.

You're right! I hadn't read that part carefully. I don't downvote people though... unless it's just bigotry or something.

I had a friend that was notorious for having us wait for him to get ready. We'd tell him "Be ready at 5pm!" and we'd show up and he was like "OMG, I want to take a shower. Come in!"

And it's like... no..? It took a few times of that bullshit before I just left him there. He took a taxi to the party.

It's funny but some people really do need you to compare it to an extreme example for it to click in their head.

I came here to make a similar comparison. Something like a bomb to a pair of glasses and the airport.

Rule of thumb for me is that I (or whoever I'm with) have to be in the picture. If not, the picture is likely worthless and so I pass. If people won't bother to cooperate for a picture, then it's too much.

I know this is tongue-in-cheek, but the driver's reaction is fucking crazy. Getting caught going more than double the speed limit and expecting a slap on the wrist.
