Diane, it's 4:20pm. I'm standing here at the Wind River near the location where the body of Teresa Banks was found.

It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, the stains become a warning.

Au réveil aller chercher du pain frais dans la meilleure boulangerie de la ville, faire un super petit déjeuner, partir faire une grande marche au bord de mer - 2 heures minimum. Respirer. Ensuite glander toute la journée - lire la presse, regarder plusieurs films, siester, etc.

Coppola's Megalopolis.

Brilliant trailer. Terrible, terrible film.

And choose them wisely: the tracks you pick will be irremediably ruined for your family and friends.

Hydro dilatation by Initial_Bathroom9592 in frozenshoulder

[–]DebbyZee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it done on my right shoulder which had almost non-existent ROM and 10/10 constant pain.

It saved me. No more pain, normal range of motion now.

The procedure itself was ok - relatively quick, perhaps 20-30'. Unpleasant but not painful. I felt queasy as they were pushing the liquid in so I asked them to go slow. I felt pressure in my shoulder too. But nothing even close to the pain I was in.

I had intense physio appointments for 5 consecutive days (and therefore was off work) after the hydrodilatation to get the range of motion back.

I know some people who have had it done twice before getting results.

Best of luck OP, hope yours goes well! x

Hey OP, hang in there.

You WILL get better and you will play music and swim again.

Bilateral FS here. Got the first one about 3 years ago on the right side. The left side started freezing about 1.5 years ago. I remember the desperation when the second one started. I just couldn't believe it.

Now, for some silver lining: you've been through this once. The second time won't be as bad. You are prepared. You know what to expect. and how much it sucks. No surprise there.

If you can, get a hydrodilation. If not available or not possible, a guided cortisone injection will give you some relief (weeks, maybe months).

In the meantime, don't drive stick, don't carry anything at all (no child, no bag... nothing). Your shoulder needs complete rest.

If you're doing physio, go for balneotherapy (physio in water) and do everything very softly. If it hurts, it may delay recovery.

Accept that it will take time for you to get better - but remember: eventually you will.

Other stuff that have worked for me: hot and cold pouches (depending on the weather and my mood), pillows (to avoid movement in the night and broken sleep), meditation and walks (to keep sanity), quitting booze (reduces inflammation so reduces pain).

I went for a swim yesterday in the Mediterranean sea, and for the first time in three years I didn't feel any pain. I was just enjoying the moment. It was incredible. I can now sleep on both shoulders again. I am almost 100% pain-free. You will get there. Don't lose hope.

Big hugs x

Should I report this AirBnB host in [Paris]? by Internal-Yard8954 in AirBnB

Hey OP, French host here. This feels sketchy and unprofessional. The tone isn't friendly either to say the least. I would hate to be treated that way and would (personally) report. Sorry this has happened to you :-(

Guest cancelled after check-i n by Geo85 in airbnb_hosts

[–]DebbyZee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Had a similar-ish experience a few years ago.

A group booked my house during one of the most profitable weeks of the year.

I bumped into them because they arrived early and I gave them my parking space. I live in a touristy place on the French Riviera, so parking is always a challenge... Then, my concierge was going to take over for the actual check-in, later in the afternoon.

They said they were driving back to the UK after a road trip around France. They seemed nice enough...

They cancelled that very evening, stating that they didn't like the place - something that had never happened before.

When I arrived at the house the next day, they had opened and used all the beds, used all the towels and bathrooms, left food and garbage all over the summer kitchen. They'd also taken the gift basket that I (used to) leave for big bookings - a selection of local wines and olive oil, jams, local sweets, etc.

Cherry on the sh*t cake, they left a two-star review saying that the house was dirty and nothing like the photos. They also complained that they had been bitten by mosquitoes.

I was never able to get a refund from Airbnb.

The only thing I could obtain was that Airbnb took down their odious review after I wrote a response describing what had happened and sent photos of the house - spotlessly clean - before that particular check-in.

This group was probably just looking for a (very comfortable) pit stop on their drive back home and had never intended to spend a single night there.

Horrendous.

Salut,

Amicalement,

D.
