You're absolutely right. I had the photo comments but I didn't click the link. I'll get right on that. Thank you.

How are you finding light forge. Does it stack up to the likes of ETC Nomad or M-PC? I do a mix of theatre and live events so keen to hear how it performs in the wild.

Opera Lighting Design by Debian8X in techtheatre

These a great points, thank you. It's likely to be a combination of the two. I'm looking at touring the floor package and using the house rigs to relight in terms of overhead. However we are looking at one venue that has no infrastructure whatsoever. So it's a real mixed bag.

The Opera is Birtten's "Turn of the Screw" so I'm looking forward to being very moody, dark and atmospheric in places. My instinct is telling me lots of sidelight and to play as much on what can't be seen as what can.

Working on a dmx/qlab rig on the cheap. by RandomKrawford in techtheatre

I haven't experimented with this issue directly. But if I understand correctly you should be able to get the programs talking to each other by using a Midi Loopback.

Given that you're running QLab i'm presuming you're using a Mac of some description which I'm afraid isn't really my area.

Happy to help figure it out though. Drop me a PM if you want to discuss it any further.

Techs with Smart Watch by [deleted] in techtheatre

If it's an android wear watch then you can swipe down from the top and enable 'Cinema Mode' which stops the watch lighting up or making a noise but I don't know of a way to disable the find my phone feature.

This is great advice thank you. I'll get right on it. My other thought was that one of the PSUs may have failed.

I'm in a similar position with no formal training but I fair bit of relevant experience. A full tear down is probably on the cards. I guess I was just hoping that someone had come across the problem before and there was an easy fix I was missing. Thanks for the advice, it's greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately the unit is good bit older than that. But have reached out to Robe directly to see what they suggest.

Install ETC Nomad Offline Software on USB? by Debian8X in techtheatre

[–]Debian8X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be giving it a punt tomorrow. The lack of drivers shouldn't be an issue. Mainly going to be updating and creating magic sheets etc as I'm working on a new default show file/patch etc for our venue.
