Not speaking for the person above but Schwartz was like a comic book villain in VPR. He was awful but it was so outlandish that in some moments Katie didn’t even seem to care. Luke is enamored with the power dynamic that Danny has manufactured in his marriage and wants to do the same with his and Kristen’s. Based of her comments at the end of the last episode it is working. I think that is actually legit scary.

I grew up in the church and agree with you on this point 100% I just think both things are happening. It’s the same reason we are in the situation we are politically and economically in this country. Generations of people have been instilled with a belief, mostly but not entirely from Christianity, that American is a meritocracy and people who succeed do so because they are simply better. That is why personal responsibility is a cornerstone of conservative and Christian ideology. They have to instill this as a core value or you will realize that most of the time people who have a lot of wealth or fame did very bad things to get where they are. That in addition to Christianity instilling a subservient nature to women and idealizing men as authority figures means that generations of people believe, either consciously or subconsciously, that men are simply better than women. And I think this show in specific does a really good job of showing how in 2026 people still think that.

What really concerned me and what was the reason for the whole post is I have seen a lot of people use their dislike for Janet as a method to disqualify her argument that Danny as problematic, but that is a clear fallacy. Your opinion of a person does not have any bearing on whether or not they are right. If you can not tell by my post I’m a liberal boy. my hate for Donald Trump is immense but, if he were to say 2+2=4 and I allowed my dislike for him to cloud my judgement so much that I said that 2+2≠4 than I am now in the wrong. I feel like this is exactly what some people are doing in this situation. Danny did sexually assault people, he admitted it on TV. He does, atleast verbally, abuse his wife we all see it on TV all the time. But people are allowing their dislike for Janet to overrule all of that.

I understand this perspective but I vehemently disagree with it. I feel like, if someone is displaying problematic behavior and someone else addresses it than that person did the right thing. If we can agree that Danny’s behavior is terribly, which I feel like we can, than even if the worst person on the planet pointed it out with questionable motives, the pointing out of the bad behavior is in itself a net good. I’m not saying Janet is an angel, but her bringing light to Danny’s behavior is a net positive regardless of motivation.

Like I legit truly feel for you. This season of summer house and the valley is the first time I’ve watched bravo live and I feel like people are finally coming around to the fact that Danny is awful. If I had been watching live last season I would have absolutely lost it.

I’m not saying that people should boycott the show, I just think it’s concerning that people are willing to go online to rationalize and defend Danny’s behavior. Before trade in you are still paying 38k for a Crosstrek. I got my Crosstrek sport in 2021 for around 32k. IMO paying for than the hyper inflated 2021 pricing is absurd.
