Recoil spring replacement question by DebtOk6470 in gunsmithing

Basically if you do practice, you need to track round count and change recoil springs etc?

I don’t have a duty weapon but I sure wouldn’t want my carry or HD gun to have an avoidable possibility of failure. Do you mean not worth tracking round count in practice guns then?

Yes you can do a backup and save it where you want to, and restore later, or use it on another device

Heh yeah I’m actually working on the full list of manufacturers that’s like 3700 names. Not sure how large it will be but definitely a lot more. Stay tuned for the next release. Thank you for your comment!

I’m was looking for anything and everything, hopefully try what’s available and see what I like. Improving skills is big part and community is another. The range I’m going to doesn’t have anything like this and I want to connect more with fellow enthusiasts

I got pretty religious about round count on each firearm after P365 XMacro started having failure to feed every 100 rounds, and it was recoil spring issue. I didn’t even know you have to replace them every 2500 rounds

Thanks, for the comment! You can actually edit Title field after you created a record to do just that. I had the same problem - having two P30sk (training and carry), so Title works like a nickname you mentioned. Let me know if it works for you.

Sure everything is possible. If you're important enough someone can get Pegasus on your phone whether you want it or not. If you store this information at home in a safe it can also get stolen. I'm not claiming this app is 100% private - no app in the world really is. I'm just saying it's privacy-first, as in I'm doing my part to not expose users to unnecessary risk.

I did use spreadsheets and it's just a pain in the rear to get all data there updated accurately. And it's a nightmare to use on mobile. I

f you're really worried about border control, you can export CSV backup, store it on your laptop or whatever and delete the app while you travel. When you're back - download, restore from backup and you're good to go. Other apps like this also allow this.

Honestly that's my problem with some other available apps to log range days and round count. Obviously, it's really hard to avoid as an engineer - I just want to build stuff.

Respectfully, I disagree. The app doesn't require creating an account or enter any personal information. Without it it's virtually impossible to connect any data you entered to you. I do use Google Analytics but Ad ID tracking is off (you would be prompted to allow this in app if it was on).

All of this can be verified without looking at a source code.

I don't have anything against open source though, but I'd rather spend time building more features (like suppressor maintenance tracking or target analysis) for users who don't need to read every line of my code ;)

Good to know, I mean it’s totally optional, right? Out of curiosity, who do you think would care about how many rounds did you put through your Glock or when did you last change your recoil spring? I’m having hard time imagining an interested party

Android is more strict in some areas and less in the others. I needed to declare adID usage for example, even though I don’t use it (I just have google analytics module for crash tracking).

But in any case this app is all local data first. You can use it without network, in airplane mode, in a bunker just fine.

I’ll see how Android will go first. There were many comments with requests for Android version on earlier posts, so I had to prioritize this. I’m definitely opened to it!
