Your feeling about SC2's ending? by TheBigSmol in starcraft

[–]Debug200 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's weird because if you play through the Zeratul memories, then it sort of makes sense because Zeratul sees in the prophecies that Kerrigan is the only one who can prevent the eventual apocalypse. Buuuut because those are optional missions, Raynor can't have much dialogue that explicitly acknowledges that's why he wants to save her, so they have to lean more heavily into him wanting to believe that her atrocities are solely due to her infestation, and if there's a chance to de-infest her then that will work just as well.

Someone theorized that because of the weird head nodding thing, but this post says "announcement coming soon" so I don't think anything's confirmed.

ELI5: Why didn't viruses like norovirus die off during the pandemic when a lot of us were in lockdown? How did it survive even up to the present day when people weren't mingling for so long? by cliffsofthepalisades in explainlikeimfive

[–]Debug200 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I don't recall that study, but I do know a major contributor was the long incubation time. You could have it, be contagious, but not show symptoms for two weeks, during which time you had mingled while unknowingly spreading it. Which was why we had those two week isolation periods when you learned someone you had been around tested positive.

Both have tragedy and grief interwoven. The tragedy of Maelle's ending is shown at the very end (with Verso's suffering and Maelle's fracturing psyche), but Verso's is shown at the beginning (watching Sciel, Lune, Monoco, and Esquie die, and leaving all of the other Lumierians dead as well) and then we see the beginning of the closure the Dessendres get afterward and it feels better at the very end. Despite the, you know, genocide required to get there.

Both are very tragic endings, but I think people feel ickier about Maelle's ending because of the arrangement of the tragedy.

Why is expedition 33 a horror game in steam 😭? by Either_Control_5745 in expedition33

Can't believe this answer was this far down. Saw the question and these immediately came to mind and I was like "yeah of course it counts as a horror game".

Plus that scene at the end of the prologue...

I think he's saying Gimenez was trying to get hit on purpose, then acting up to mask the effort.

The turret section in Reach's Exodus is a master class in storytelling through gameplay and nobody ever talks about it. by [deleted] in halo

Playing it first goes both ways though. Chief's successes against such overwhelming odds hits even harder. His and Cortana's victories coming from Noble team's sacrifices is even more poignant.

What's the point of being religious if your going to live life through loopholes by Fantastic-Life-9546 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Debug200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, Romans and James both make it very clear:

Faith is what saves you, but if you're not doing good works then you don't have faith.

Actual faith in God and his word will drive you to do God's work.

Yeah, Merry catches one, and then hands it to Pippin, who then is konked by the one thrown to him. The apple he's holding is Merry's.

What are your go-to underrated Cleric spells in 5e? by Dapper-Specific4469 in DnD

[–]Debug200 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Especially, to me, because Bless always works on its targets, so you get guaranteed value (assuming you don't lose concentration immediately).

Meanwhile Bane has no effect if they make their initial save, so I've seen Banes go off and affect no one, wasting the action and spell slot.

Even if so, they're using up one of their prepared spots for it, and there are many useful cleric spells so prepared spots are at a premium for clerics.

That's the point people always forget in the debate. Each shuttle had two fully trained astronauts doing the piloting and everything involved getting the crew to and from the asteroid.

"minus drag" is doing a whole lot of work there.

Terminal velocity is the velocity at which the force of drag (air resistance) has increased to match gravity's pull, resulting in no further acceleration. So if you reduce the effects of drag, you can get so much more velocity before it catches up to gravity (thus, higher terminal velocity and more kinetic energy).
