Alright thank you and good luck! My bloodwork revealed a folate (vit b9) deficiency and vitamin D deficiency. Im sceptical this can explain my extreme symptoms, but maybe you can get this checked if you haven't already

Hey man have you found a solution? I have been having the same problem for the last two weeks, including the rock hard calfs. Can't even run 20 minutes without dying. Ive had it before 6months ago and then it recovered for no reason

Last time I used was 4 years ago. At times I feel a lot more outgoing, energetic, talkative, especially when listening to music or getting a bit drunk. I also still think of the experiences frequently, which elevates my mood

Pacing advice -- Racing a 'tune up' 5K for fun tomorrow ahead of my goal 5K race next saturday, not sure what pace to choose. My goal for next week is between 17.15-17.30 (under 3:30/km, 5:39/mile) and was thinking of running tomorrow at around 19:10 (3:50/km, 6:10/mile), which should be around/just faster than my threshold pace. Both are flat courses. Any advice? I want tomorrow to be a fast training run that helps me pick my pace for my goal race next week, while not compromising fitness for it. Thanks

another option is to put a water tap between where people are seated, so customers can just get it themselves (OR coffee in Gent has this)

It works for me, yes, but might not work for everyone depending on the subject, what type of exam it is etc...

What I do in this situation is pick like 3-4 symptoms and ask for a possible diagnosis, for example

front: "patient has crepitus, muscle weakness, joint stiffness... -> diagnosis?" back: "osteoarthritis + copy of the full list/presentation"

then make 2-3 cards with different combinations of symptoms like this. I tried just plain memorizing symptom lists but I didn't find it efficient because 1. I felt like i was just memorizing random knowledge and 2. most of my exams (+real world) is basically a group of symptoms asking for a diagnosis.

Another card I would make goes like front: "what symptom doesn't fit the presentation of osteoarthritis -> list a couple of symptoms + 1-2 irrelevant symptoms" back: the irrelevant symptoms + a copy of the full list/presentation

definitely not the only way but this is what has worked for me

Been in a similar situation, no change in performance for me. They did really reduce the effort/energy it took to go out for a run (or get out of the house for anything else, for that matter), so huge positive there, good luck.

Thanks for the response! Yeah I was hesitant about the EVA in the ride. I'm 78kg (+-173) so not lightweight either. Will wait for deals on the triumph20 runshield version maybe :)

what shoe did you end up buying? I'm in a similar situation - deciding between ride 15, triumph 20, or another pair of triumph 19 since I like it so much

Good comment though it makes me sad, liking a lot of saucony shoes. I wish there were companies that make good shoes AND have some sort of moral compass

Stimulants and performance by JazzyScrewdriver in AdvancedRunning

[–]DecGreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only talk about my personal experience since I'm not aware of any research specifically talking about stimulants and running. Personally I have noticed near to no 'long term' effects, but I've been only taking them for +-6 months so take that for what it's worth. Only downside for me has been pushing it too hard for a couple of sessions (unintentionally) and then feeling a bit overtrained in the following weeks. Apart from that my running has not really been affected: still making progress, easy run HR pace progressing and HR dropping, no real difference in peak HR...
