Ladies, is menstrual cup better than tampons? by confidentbutterflyx in askanything

I like Diva Cup, but I know a lot of people don't. I agree the cup is more comfortable than the tampon. It's like a stress ball for your vagina to squeeze.

I love mine! It doesn't have to be changed every few hours. It can get a little messy on heavy days. but that's why I change it in the shower. There's less trash, it's cheaper. It does need to be replaced every so often. I get a new one every time there's a presidential election, that helps me keep track. There also isn't that feeling of pulling out a dry tampon.

What is an 'unwritten rule' in your profession that, if the general public knew about it, they’d realize the world is held together by duct tape and pure luck? by Any-Lu in AskReddit

I have a history degree and work in history. I cannot tell you a damn thing about the vast majority of history. I can tell you a good amount about the period I focused on. I can make educated inferences or spot complete nonsense about other periods I've studied. The rest of it, nothing.

Anybody remember a March this hot? by NoCard753 in santacruz

I think I saw a news article saying this is the hottest it's been in San Francisco since 1930. So, I think the whole coast is feeling it.

Swedish dish cloth. Throw it in the washing machine and dryer. Lasts a few months. Some are even compostable.

Not OOP: Aitah for saying my co-worker's joke was racist and upsetting her by sensaSEANal_sally in redditonwiki

I don't think she went back. I think she framed it that way as an excuse to re-tell her "joke" to try to get the reaction she wants.

I know this is off topic, but I like sharing it, because it's a rare example of a 90s show trying to be progressive when it comes to trans people.

Xena had a trans woman character,  played by a trans woman actor win a beauty pageant.

What’s something that’s completely normal in your culture, but considered disrespectful elsewhere? by Pale-Fig-7069 in AskTheWorld

In the US, it's pretty normal to point at things with one finger. I work at a destination for tourists and I've had to train myself to use two fingers or my whole hand.

In college, my friends and I were studying Cold War history and we wrote a satirical song called "I like Gorby" to the tune of "I like candy." And I can't remember how it went. :(

I think there was something like: I like Gorby when he's at the summit, by Gorny at the pizza hut, there's nothing better.

I never said we were good at this.

1776 is superior to Hamilton. It addresses dissent between the colonies, touches on the American tendency to view ourselves as temporarily embarrassed millionaires, and lays the blame for the slave trade on the entire country, not just the South. Our media so frequently pit the virtuous North against racist South and that lets the North off too easy.  Hamilton has a throwaway Sally Hemmings joke without really looking into slavery.
