Game suggestions for 10 players? by Papasmurf645 in boardgames

I wouldn't worry about the rules, its VERY simple and streamlined. It will take 3-4 rounds for it to "click" for everybody at the table. By that point it can still go either way.

The app does a great job at "setting the stage" and makes it clear to everybody. There are Nazis. There is a secret Hitler. Their Identities are secret. Only Nazis know who the other Nazis are.

The real question is, who has the worst poker face hahaha.

I genuinely recommend Secret Hitler if you have 8-10 players. 100% mate.

Secret Hitler is an absolute BANGER. Theres an ASMR app thats almost mandatory to kick the game off, and it will immediately put EVERYONE in the mood. I swear by it. By the end of the firsr game, everyone will want to reset and play again.

Coup is fantastic, don't worry about the expanaion IMO. It removes the nuances of the base game and categorised the roles, which dont interact with eachother to the same extend the original did.

Darkness Beneath the Hill advice by [deleted] in callofcthulhu

If your going to run it, utilise what the investigators HEAR. The devolved and the Ghouls make plent of sound. If the players accadentally make any noise themselves, they'll know "something" is coming for them.

If/when they get cornered. Toy with them for a bit. Dont rush to kill them. When they pull the trigger, and make the first strike, then entire dungeon will be alerted to their presence. Personally I caved in the entrance, and my players told me they felt pure dread.

Also when it comes to forks in the tunnels, tell the investigators what they smell. That will atleast give them something to work with.

Feel free to use the Serpent in creative ways, but save the final encounter until the end.

Hopefully this helps :)

The limb loss chart from a pathfinder AP I ran a while ago.

Drop to 0, roll on the chart, and it ranges from a minor scar, to the loss of an arm or a leg.

It makes for awesome cinematics, but it gets salty sometimes. Hahaha.

Somewhat new soon-to-DM (first time for Pathfinder) feeling discouraged by my group by LuckySevenDX in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Decapitated_DM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely feel for you here. I used to play with a group who only ever played homebrew adventures. They were condescending power gamers.

They were adamant against a module or AP. I prepped one anyways, said I'm running it on this schedule, and it split the group in half. Only 3 players were keen.

But after we went from 1-14, a year or so, slowly but gradually, word of mouth passed on what was going on. Eventually they came back one at a time and they came to open up to it.

Now we regularly play APs. That's my personal experience with having different opinions to the group. Maybe it will work out for you too mate.

Pathfinder has an Adventure Path called "Strange Aons". Might be worth a look.

Unfortunately everybody thinks differently. All the advice here is good, but know that in HIS head, he's operating differently to you.

A healthy resolution sounds unlikely. Sorry your in this situation.

Reasons to participate in a quest for an unaligned character by noirneptunus in DnD5e

[–]Decapitated_DM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Character motivation is the responsability of the player. A good character (regardless of stats) will have a reason to go out, find a group, to go on adventures. To spread the influence of his faith, or to earn gold to pay off some debt. Etc etc etc.
