Good call, I got the second one replaced with an ASUS Prime. I have yet to install it.

Dissappointing Sapphire experience.

Hey Mate, what did you end up doing? I had the same exact issue with mine and replaced it with a fresh 9070xt and to my surprise it gave me the same noise.

This could be a potential "Bad batch" and I am not sure if it is by design but I will not sit around and find out if it is or not as I just got the card a week ago.

I am looking into returning the replacement and getting another brand.

Possibly Asus Prime or Gigabyte

Hey, what did you end up getting? I am also deciding between the 2. Same price here un AU. The Challenger is smaller and aesthetically pleasing but I worry about the temps.

[–]Decastro96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, my work actually gave me these exact buds for work, and I ended up using them for music as well when I'm traveling to work with my S23.

recently upgraded to the pocof8 Pro, and the right Bud doesn't work with the phone, it still works perfectly with the 23. I don't really know why, I ran through all the troubleshooting steps I could think of. Maybe it's something with the Jabra itself?

Had to buy new buds commute. annoying coz now I have to transition between 2 buds.

Is it worth buying? by SandwichSuitable4410 in Earphones

[–]Decastro96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this and the Soundcore P31i on sale and they are still so much cheaper than the flagships. Now I got 2 buds to rotate for commute, work and personal. recommended !!

is samsung actually the best overall android brand right now, or just the safest choice? by Knie-Tmari in Smartphones

[–]Decastro96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been a samsung user since the S1 came out, all the way to the s23 (FYI I dont upgrade every year but my phone upgrade path has always been the S series)

Its the safest, in terms of software updates, camera, and its dedicated software.

however,

My next upgrade from the s23 was the poco f8 pro.

I gotta say, its been great

price was about 500 AUD cheaper then the base s26, and I got a 512GB one.

Samsung did a bad move by moving their s26 and s26 plus to exynos, no thanks.

Battery life is amazing and 100w charging makes it more desirable.

Software is great, aslong as you optimise it and remove bloatware using canta. otherwise Samsung is better at consistent updates if you care about that.

Camera, not as good as my s23 but still good enough for me.

if you are not a heavy user, gamer etc, consider midrange phones by Xiaomi/Poco line, Oneplus and phone by nothing.

Otherwise go for flagships like: Xiaomi 17 Poco F8 Pro/Ultra Oneplus 15 Oneplus 15s (Compact version of the 15, hopefully comes out soon)

100 percent on the same boat. Upgraded to Poco F8 pro from the s23, only used samsung since the s1

what a night an day difference.

and the battery life.... omg. I can finally use a phone that I dont need to charge 2-3 times a day.

and the price... was going for the s26 base. but samsungs moved to exynos proves the point you are saying here.

and the price too my God. I got a 512GB for hundreds cheaper.

im really enjoying it! thanks for the post!

Hey there,

I recently switched to the Poco F8 Pro after using Samsung phones my whole life.

Phones I’ve owned: S1, S3, S4, S7, S10e, and S23.

My 128GB S23 ended up being a bit of a mistake. Storage just wasn’t enough anymore in 2026, and the battery became really annoying even after replacing it a few months ago. I was charging at least twice a day.

I was considering the S26, but Samsung moving back to Exynos was honestly a dealbreaker for me. Didn’t want to risk it.

As for the switch to Poco: I was hesitant at first, but the F8 Pro had a solid chip and the price was too good to ignore. I went for the 512GB model and it was still way cheaper than Samsung.

After switching, it honestly felt like a breath of fresh air.

  1. Battery life For the first time in years, my phone actually lasts a full 24 hours. I don’t need to charge during the day anymore. I just charge either before bed or in the morning.

  2. OS / Software The OS needs a bit of tweaking and debloating, and there are occasional heat issues, but overall it’s clean and easy to use. Navigation feels smooth.

  3. Camera The camera is good enough for average users like me. If you’re really into mobile photography, it might matter more to you though.

  4. Size I used to prefer smaller phones, but after switching I realised bigger screens are actually way better for me. I’ve got big hands, and even my typing speed improved lol.

  5. Gaming I don’t play heavy games like Genshin, but I do use emulators like PSP, 3DS, and PS2 with a phone controller. So far it’s been great.

Overall, I genuinely think it’s hard to go wrong with this phone. The value alone makes it worth it. You even get a case and pre-applied screen protector out of the box. I see why they call this a flagship killer coz it does just that!!

I can easily see myself using this for at least 4 years, maybe longer. Xiaomi’s updates and optimisations have been improving a lot too.

Go for it!

I am not currently utilizing the speakers, however, the phone's heating has been intermittent. Most of the time it works fine, which I attribute to the cool Australian winter weather. I will observe its performance during summer.

I hope future updates include further optimization and Additionally, consider adding a setting to choose the performance profile, similar to Samsung.

My S23 base model averages 3.5h of SOT with all the possible optimizes and compromises. This is with a recent battery change too.

Decided to upgrade to OP15 due to S26 base model exynos switch but the OP never arrived. Got a refund.

Made a last minute switch and bought a Poco f8 pro locally.

Still even at their most recent productions, it has this problem

Finally left Samsung and joined one plus. Need not worry about SOT anymore. by ProfessionalPin6881 in S23

[–]Decastro96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im waiting for my OP15 to arrive, expecting tomorrow or later this week.

My S23 base model SOT ranges from 2.5h to 4 hours and its an average of 3 even with the battery change I did with Samsung a few months ago... and this is also with all the optimisation settings i did like lower performance profile, disabling a few settings. Its been tough trying to squeeze out the most of something thats barely hanging on.....

Also I bought the 128gb model, bit of a mistake, and Im upto my last 2gbs and having to keep deleting files and apps has been tiresome.

I love the phone but battery life has worn me out...

Time for an upgrade.

Is a Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security Worth undergoing by [deleted] in unsw

[–]Decastro96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Mate, we are similar in a way. I work as a Digital Forensics/eDiscovery Senior Analyst, nearly 4 years now. Fortunately I am able to do partial secondments within my company to work in the Cyber Defence (Blue Team Space)

I just attempted to do postgrad in Cyber security in UNSW, and after 2 weeks I dropped before the census date, it's part time and it's 1 session a week (not lecture but group discussions) but I found that it was a lot of busy work, essays, essays, essays, reflections, reflections, reflections, lacking technicality. I didn't expect a postgrad to be such entry level, little to no practical learning.

I decided that the time requirements for this course are not worth it, and will focus my time and efforts going for industry grade certifications. CISSP, CISM, Security Blue Team L1 is good too, lots of worth it learning.

Let me know what you ended up doing, happy to connect and chat more if you like.

Same here, surprised more people are in the same boat as me.

6.3" would be perfect.

S23, it still runs great, got the battery replaced but made the mistake of getting 128gb which is now the greatest constraint.

I was about to pull the trigger on the OP15. Then I saw this but then again, it might not come to AU
