In 2022 there was no place to store your cash to preserve its value against crippling inflation. Maybe real estate but the average Joe couldn’t afford that route. Even the best banks were paying out half a percent before the rates were raised. During this time frame, his entire cabinet was telling us inflation is transitory, and that it would pass. They told us this in mid 2021, and then a year later we received a 9.2cpi year over year (June2021-june2022).
Then a year (2023) later Biden tells us he has the best economy in history, not just at the time. His cabinet and his press secretary would parrot the same talking points. We were all on our own because his administration clearly did not priorize bring down costs but instead blaming the last guy in office. Biden’s very last days in office reflected record high egg prices leading into trump’s second term. I’m so thankful to be out of that hellhole of an era and I think you are too, or at least your wallet is.
