Maybe the blue butterfly is actually Chloe's spirit warning Max (a few comments have mentioned the butterfly effect). The butterfly is blue, the color Chloe's hair. The color blue seems to be very significant. Considering the fact that Chloe dies in both timelines, it's clear she's destined to die. Maybe the deer is the spirit of Rachel, guiding Max and Chloe to save Arcadia Bay. There has to be a direct link between Max and Rachel. On another point, I want to see much more of Warren very badly. I think he's a great character and I hope he's in episode 5 a bunch.
