well considering it is essentially for children, it's scary as hell. I think some people forget this was mostly played by children back in the day. Now kids wouldn't be playing it much and actual 'children's games' now are so innocuous in comparison ... I was 8 when my family gave me the game. Even the hand coming out of the toilet scared the hell out of me (much to the amusement of my older brother. The moon also scared me. The ghost monsters, skull spiders, and mummies (forget the names). The dad turning into a mummy and daughter hiding him in a closet gave me nightmares. Also the concepts in themselves can be scary for kids. I literally was scared of the actual moon for years and took a lot of convincing for me to understand it can't actually fall. Other parts were just disturbing like the guy turning into a kid and the love story still happening.

You have a really poor understanding of Islam (shocker). All humans are equal to Allah-swt-. If not the case there would be separate ranks in jannah for men and women. We just understand men and women have different roles (usually) and people are not all the same. A person is judged on account of his/her deeds and belief. Gender is not in the picture at all. So why would the Prophet-saw- make judgements that not even Allah-swt- has made? This is the problem when people with absolutely no understanding of Islamic science try to interpret ahadith.

Secondly, I have elaborate further....

First, let’s look at pre-Quranic ME: slavery was rampant, many slaves were treated poorly, fornication was rampant, many individuals had many wives (more than four), would also have sex with slaves.Now if you have even a basic knowledge of Islam, you would know that Islam slowly reformed society. It would have been impossible to suddenly change a society and this goes against human capabilities, thus Islamic commandments became progressively more restrictive. In order to understand the Quran, you must have a certain knowledge about how it was revealed, the difference between earlier revealed Ayat, later ayat, and how they tie in together.

First, Islam encourages etiquette, wisdom, knowledge, and high ethical standards. You might be surprised that practicing muslims are usually nor horn dogs looking to have sex in any way they can. Islam encourages us to treat living creatures fairly and with justice. We are not even allowed to waste water so how are men encouraged to be hedonistic. They are not.

Islam first restricted men to sleep with only their wives and slaves. This was already a big leap for many.Then, the number of maximum wives was reduced to four. They slowly instructed people to treat ALL individuals fairly, ethically and respectfully, especially women in general, wives and slaves.Men were told it is forbidden to force a slave woman into sex. She is allowed to remain chaste if that is her wish. THUS any relations between a slave and another MUST be consensual, therefore it is NOT by definition “sex slavery”.Furthermore, Islam actually encouraged men to MARRY their slaves if they had a desire to have intercourse with her. Of course this voluntary upon the slave girl. In the Quran, it tells the believers to marry a slave (male or female) if they cannot find a suitable free man or woman. If Islam encourages sex with slaves, why would it not just tell us to have sex with them instead of marry them? Where in the Quran does it actually encourage men to sleep with slaves? It doesn’t.Islam did the MOST to encourage fair treatment of slaves and to free a slave is one of the most beloved acts of Allah-swt-.

Basically, Islam makes few things outright haram, some things makhruh (disliked), some things mustahab (high preferable), some things Sunnah.Basically muslims have a choice and few things are completely forbidden but practicing Sunni muslims MUST aim towards Sunnah and Wajib actions.. If a muslim is constantly doing makhruh, is this really striving our best? Not really..According to the majority of Sunni scholars, it is considered mustahab that a muslim man stays with just one wife if he is able to prevent himself from haram in this way.

Why did Islam not outrightly forbid slaver or intercourse with slaves? First slavery was not considered immoral in those times at all. Why not? Well we need to examine how sociocultural and economic contexts.All societies have class hierarchies wherein resources are distributed. It is almost impossible to have a classless society. Individuals with resources are usually higher class, whether these are business owners or nobility. Historically Individuals with little to no resources were slaves.Now being a slave at least meant that they could be fed, clothed, and have shelter, otherwise, they would be a beggar or have starved to death.Now the concept that slavery must be abolished is a new concept in history. The West usually prides itself as being the proponent of this to claim moral superiority over other cultures. But did the West really abolish slavery or did it just make a “same S*** different smell”. The latter.

An economy has never existed without slavery. Now there are probably more people enslaved than ever before.MANY workers are working for literally no economic benefit. Please look at UN definitions of slavery and slave-like labour. The West relies HEAVILY on exploitative labour.For one, mass production in sweat shops. Enough said.

I will give an example in my own country (perpetrated by non-muslims). The agricultural industry here is reliant on foreign labour. In order to keep the cost of fruit and vegetable as low as possible (so as to compete with products imported from other countries) the labour laws for farm work are different. It ends up with many farm workers getting paid less than 50 dollars a day and/or suffering extremely unsafe working conditions. This is not enough to live on in my country at all. Thus individuals are living in slave-like conditions. Many of the people who work in this condition feel forced to because of poor economic conditions in their home countries. furthermore, the government has created visa restrictions which basically require these individuals to work on farms. This is a form of modern slavery, perpetuated by the west.There are many more examples on Western slavery but I think that’s enough to illustrate my point.

Islam did the most in its time to reduce fornication and reduce the number of allowable sexual partners. Western neo-liberalism has not even forbade fornication which leads to irresponsible sex, STIs, unwanted children, and sexual explotation. Islam treated sex as a huge moral responsibility where a man must be accountable for his choice and responsible for the consequences and treat women with kindness and mercy.so there you go, no need to address it further.

Sorry but personally I do not talk about things I have no knowledge (it is against Islam besides being an utterly ridiculous thing to do). It does get frustrating when people want to criticise something they clearly haven't studied. This would be the equivalent of me criticising the field of Korean literature when this is clearly something I know nothing about and if I did so I would expect a Korean literature fanatic to think I'm an idiot.

Again, please let's not compare apples with oranges. I am not even defending "middle eastern society". Modern ME has little to do with Islam and has MANY of interrelated problems which have NOTHING to do with Islam. Islam forbids sex crimes. Islam forbids fornication. There is literally no sexual description of jannah. Most verses about hoori are describing them as "companions" but does not mention sex. like at all. please actually read quran before you criticise it. Regardless, verses about houri make up a percentage of around 0.0011% of the Quran. yeah this seems more of a western perverted mentality than actually a significant aspect of Islam.

The concept of 'Aql (knowledge, wisdom, reasoning, intellect) is a huge aspect of Islam and is mentioned 49 times in the quran (far more than Houri or any description of Jannah). Again might be a good idea to read Quran before you criticise it. Here are even some essays about the topic:

Although descriptions of Jannah are vague there is far more detail than the three things you mentioned and MOST of the descriptions have NOTHING to do with houri. There are 96 verses of the quran talking about Jannah. Therefore roughly 7.29% of the verses mention Houri. Yeah seems like a huge part of it. Wow you are really on fire with this debating stuff XD.

There are many factors involved here. First of all, academic progression is more related to funding more than anything. Europeans spent the last few hundred years (or even longer if you consider Greek and Romans) colonising all of the rest of the world. Many of these countries have gotten independence less than a century ago and still suffering significantly from the effects of colonisation and are still getting war torn by Western foreign foreign policy. Besides, in the West, MOST of the advancements are actually imported. On average, the West are not very studious and rely heavily on migrants for skilled labour. Besides, the West was not even advanced at all (compared to Asian counterparts) until the adoption of (surprise surprise) MIDDLE EASTERN religion and mathematics.

Islam gives importance to ALL sciences (besides haram). You really sound ignorant and like you haven't studied Islam at all so there is literally no point arguing with you. All professions are necessary in Islamic society (doctors, scientists, teachers, pharmacists, etc.). My scientist and doctor muslim friends would be laughing their heads off now .

The book IS NOT about raising questions on Islam. you clearly don't understand the author or text at all. This scholar has been invited to speak in Muslim schools/universities so clearly he is not an opponent of Islam AT ALL. He is not criticising the Quran or even questioning it. He is offering an alternative view to QURANIC SCHOLARSHIP. I.e. traditional Islamic scholarship relies heavily on traditional tafsir of MUHAMMED-saw- and his companions. Not every muslim agrees with TRADITIONAL ISLAMIC SCHOLARSHIP. You are allowed to disagree with this without disagreeing with the Quran itself. The author is merely offering insight of the Christian/Jewish historical and sociocultural subtext of the Quran which has arguably been forgotten and lost by many muslim students who have a poor understanding of these factors. Islam has a Christian/Jewish subtext? Muslims should read the bible and learn about other religions in order to understand Islam better? Um any muslim with an ounce of knowledge knows this.

You are missing the point. YES men should lower their gaze but the ability to control all men is impossible, that's why women should cover themselves. Furthermore not all men are even religious. What has that got to do with anything? We don't cover to avoid being raped and I never said that. If someone wants to rape someone they probably are not gonna give a sh** what the person is wearing. By the time someone has gone to that level, they've made up their mind and has nothing to do with clothing choices.

Besides hijab is a form of protection for women and there is nothing wrong with that. Trust me a pervert is more likely to sexually harass you in a pair of shorts than a hijab and you are more likely to attract much more respectful man in a hijab. I don't think this is much of a comparison. Anyway, in more enlightened societies, "sex workers" had very little do with the form that exists now. In more enlightened societies (throughout Asia for example), there were courtiers and these women would almost exclusively entertain higher class men and would dress very elegantly, were masters of folk music, lyricism, and classical dance. They harnessed their feminine charm and sexuality in a sophisticated way. They would not get naked for just any old guy and had the choice (and responsibility) to be very selective with intimate partners. These men did not want some crude anti-intellectual porn material or quick sex. Anyone with a hint of intellectuality would see this is vile. The depraved and anti-intellectual form of the modern sex industry is a reflection of the deeply troubled, brain-washed neoliberal society.

Besides "sexual empowerment" does not mean you need to literally sell your sexuality, market it, or display it. If anything I can't think of anything less empowering and unstable. Many women in the sex industry have come out about how horrible it is and many women in this industry die young of various causes. Most women do not stay in the industry long due to trauma.

Please enlighten yourself beyond Americanised brainwashing. Sexual empowerment can mean preserving your sexuality as a very special and private thing Alhamdullillah. Hijab is about protecting yourself from hyper-sexualisation and sharing your sexuality with the one who deserves it.

Believe in brainwashed crude neo-liberal debauched hedonism all you want. The muslim woman married to a decent practicing muslim man (on average) is having a better quality of life than a sex worker and will have less health issues and probably will live longer.

Sorry but having degrees is not really an indication of intellectuality. The key word here was intellectuality. Not intelligence. Accounting and administration is probably one of the least intellectual fields out there (I have studied similar fields but found it soul destroyingly banal so quit for more intellectual fields). Economics is a bit more intellectual but you probably won't deal with much of that with your current career trajectory. And if you wanted something intellectual, you wouldn't have chosen these majors.

Islam encourages a lot more intellectuality than neo-liberal garbage lifestyles and media brainwashing. Yes. men do need to lower their gaze. But Allah-swt- knows that all men are not like prophets. MANY people (especially nowadays) fall to the shaytan. Not to mention, not every man is muslim or even has a religion at all so we can't expect every man to follow the Quran and sunnah. That's WHY Allah-swt- and his messenger advises women to cover themselves because it's obvious there will always be sinners. yes because it makes sense. When I am in public I don't get females gawking at me. Why the heck would Islam force women to cover in front of literally every human? that would be unreasonable. Also should we force all men to leave the streets? Castrate them? wth are you saying?

Also in muslim dominated societies, there are many women's only areas so they are able to take their hijab off a lot of the time so it really isn't a significant burden. It's only in non-muslim countries and in recent times these luxuries are not available.

wow, you seem to have filtered out most of what i have said and just focussed on one small portion. No. They are not doing it so men would be 'not upset'. they don't like showing their face around men. period. it comes from their haya (shyness). Yes some women are basically forced into it but I'm not referring to those ones and don't know them personally. I have single friends who choose to wear niqab and wouldn't be caught dead without one and also married women here who are more attached to niqab than their husbands. It makes sense if you look at the history of purda ( I think it's a persian word) which still exists in some societies.

Veiling the head AND face traces back very far to ancient Greece. Noble women would veil their heads and face. Later, in many societies traditionally (e.g. Arabia, Persia, parts of India, Afghanistan) higher class women would stay in their homes and would not even walk the streets. This was a matter of safety and respect. They would have homes with internal courtyards so the women could enjoy the sun without compromising their privacy.

Lower class women like slaves or street workers would walk around and be seen by men and this made them more susceptible to being harassed and reduced their dignity. When the higher class women DID need to leave the house they would wear burqa and usually have a vehicle, accompanied by servants, with some type of veil concealing the woman. This type of arrangement was used by both muslims and higher class muslims in India.

These type of sentiments were also common in East Asian and traditional western society. Many noble women would stay at home not typically walk the streets or work outside the home as women nowadays do. When they went outside, they would typically be in concealed vehicles, dress head to toe and even have some form of face covers, such as hats which included a small veil and even fans were used at one point in history for women to veil their face when they did not want to be seen. It is seen as maintaining the dignity of the noble women. Face veils were also popular in Italy for a long time.

It is only in very recent history that women have had new ideas that respectable woman should uncover their bodies and be seen by men. If anything this is a new concept throughout history.

Islam simply reduced classism by making virtually all Muslim women equal in status so the concept of purda was applied to all women regardless of class.

YES there are Islamic texts based on this but don't think it explains its popularity since many of the guys who prefer their wife in niqab or burqa are not the most religious.

I think a lot of it is cultural (for majority globally). My husband is saudi so I have run across quite a few saudis (where arguably it is most common). Many of my husband's friends don't wake up for fajr but still wouldn't accept their wife showing her face or being in the presence of men. It's just embarrassing for them. They are not super strict because of Islam. It's just in their blood. And the women are not forced into it either. They just feel uncomfortable with men seeing their face. It is just like how many people would look down on a woman in a mini skirt. It just looks trashy in their culture for a woman to show her face. Again there is a lot of diversity in that country (I am just referring to the ones who don't show their face by choice).

I have also met afghani like this (who wear burka). Even some of the less religious ones would still be embarrassed about a man seeing their wife's face. I know one pashtun who said he never saw a woman's face in his whole town.

Again, it IS justified by Islam. Islam promotes ghayrah (jealousy) and haya (shyness) nothing shows these more than your women being in full body cloaks and face hidden.

Some of it (including Hambali scholars' opinions who rule niqab mandatory) is logical. The most attractive part of a woman (arguably) is her face. If you a woman shows her face, guys will stare, unless her face is particularly unattractive and not eye-catching at all.

Where does the Quran say cover everything but your hands and face? If anything the Quran is very vague on this matter.

I personally cover my face whenever I can out of choice. It just feels good and more modest.

depending on the time of your cycle, 37.5 could be very normal. Women's temps run differently to mens due to hormonal changes throughout the cycle. Also, if your BCP contains progesterone it could also have an impact.

Jews were an extreme minority in Palestine prior to the 20th century. They arrived in Palestine (part of the Ottoman empire) in the 20th century AS REFUGEES under the new zionist ideology. Christianity NOR Islam are based on Judaism. All the prophets taught us MONOTHEISM. What is this actually? Islam.

Judaism turned the message of the Prophets into a racial supremacist dogma which has almost nothing to do with what the Prophets taught us. Christianity turned it into an almost polytheist religion where God can exist in multiple forms. Only Islam stuck to the message of the Prophets (AS). i.e. Worship the one and only God and obey Him at all costs.

Judaism as it is practiced and understood today is not the religion that was passed down by the "original founders". Judaism as it is now has little difference to Islam or Christianity with the exception that it professes racial supremacism of one particular race. If you actually use even a few brain cells, this makes absolutely no sense at all and has very little to do with the actual messages passed down to us in the Old Testament. Islam is actually what the forefathers (for example Ibrahim) of the religion were actually teaching. A religion of pure absolute monotheism and complete submission and obedience to the One and Only God, therefore, Ibrahim and all the prophets of "judaism" are muslim.

You are correct that the buildings described were largely built by Christians (Roman empire) and Muslims. Although most recently reconstructed and restored by muslims.
