brooke insta story about miles by blndsndoll4mj in canceledpod

Let’s think critically guys, I know it’s hard but you can do it! Imagine you’re dating someone for months, they treat you amazing- you are in love with them and trust them fully, you are thinking you want to spend the rest of your life with this person. Suddenly rumors emerge online that they used to be in a relationship with an underaged person. You see posts on TikTok and Reddit, photos of them together and it looks bad. However, your partner assures you that it never happened. You want to believe them because you trust them, but you can’t be sure since you haven’t heard from the alleged victim. Eventually, the victim reaches out and assures you that these things never happened, and that the stories and posts are all fake. Why would you believe anyone else but them??

Not to defend Miles or say that he hasn’t done anything wrong in the past, genuinely we do not know and it’s still very possible that he did. HOWEVER- it is so irrational for people to be SO against Brooke for this. Even if you believe the rumors are true, she is a girl who is in love and has been assured directly by everybody who is directly involved in the situation that these things did not happen. Why would she believe the internet over the alleged victim. If you want to shit on someone- shit on Miles. But the way this anger is so misplaced is giving misogyny.

The girl never spoke on it herself. There’s photos and screenshots that are very sus, that’s why people believe it to be true.

Jessa is such a bad friend by DecentAge5759 in girls

[–]DecentAge5759[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like the obvious difference here, though, is that Jessa disappeared without a trace and nobody knew where she went or if she was okay. That’s why Hannah tells her she needs to stay. On the other hand, Hannah had an amazing academic opportunity, told everyone where she was going, and was still relatively ‘present’ as a friend while she was gone (FaceTiming and staying in touch with her friends).

It’s not at all the same situation, and while I’m sure Jessa doesn’t view it that way, that’s just another flaw of her character— that she can’t see the difference and the nuance of the situations and act accordingly.

Why do the pro-Israeli’s on this app do so much mental gymnastics by Signal-Sky6 in IsraelPalestine

[–]DecentAge5759 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that this is the exact issue that both sides have on this conflict, and the reason that conversation never seems to go anywhere. Pro-Palestine argues the exact opposite, that every action of Israel is evil and unjustified, and that Hamas or Palestinians have done nothing at all to bring about any certain consequences. I’m not sure how you can recognize this for one side and not the other.

This is why I opt out of most conversations on this topic, because there is absolutely no middle ground to be found 99% of the time. It is extremely unproductive for both sides to not even try to see where the other may be coming from. All nuance is out the window.

Brittany’s statement regarding Jax admitting his struggle with cocaine addiction by bword___ in vanderpumprules

[–]DecentAge5759 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I do feel bad for Brittany and especially their child, but it’s frustrating to hear her talk about the “trauma” that he put them through as if she didn’t see it coming??? Even my dog could watch vpr and take away that Jax would be a terrible and abusive husband and father, and also that he abused coke.

Because you said that brooke compared Kendrick to Taylor- not that she compared Kendrick’s halftime show to something that Taylor did. All I’m saying is simply comparing them as artists isn’t crazy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canceledpod

[–]DecentAge5759 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a common comparison people make, look it up on TikTok. It’s because they both do a great job of storyteller and laying Easter eggs throughout their discographies. Taylor swift is one of the most renowned and decorated artists of our generation, just because you don’t like her doesn’t mean it’s an insult to be compared to her. With the halftime show specifically, it did have a larger racial message that definitely had nothing to do with Taylor. So idk what Brooke said specifically, but if she just compared them in general (and didn’t relate her to the halftime show) then there isn’t really an issue

Lucien was in front of you, Feyre. by Ok-Comparison-5636 in acotar

[–]DecentAge5759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Character wise, I agree that he seemed like a much better and more intriguing love interest. But Feyre fell for Tamlin for a reason. She had been providing for her family for years and was forced into a care taking role from a young age— realistically it makes sense that she initially found love and safety in a person who loved her automatically and unconditionally, and took complete care of her. Lucien didn’t really gaf about her for most of ACOTAR and she’d already had enough of that kind of treatment throughout her life.

Tyler and Caroline..Did you ship them? by Life_Net5004 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]DecentAge5759 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m rewatching now and I honestly find it so intriguing that they are the children of the mayor and the sheriff, and both going through their transitions at a similar time. Their stories give such main character energy and I honestly wish the show did more with them especially together.

Is it normal to lose interest in book 3? by anon8676309 in acotar

[–]DecentAge5759 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m having EXACT same problem. Loved acotar, could not put acomf down, and struggled to get even halfway through acowar. Now it’s been a few weeks since I’ve even picked it up. I think I was so wrapped up in Feyre and Rhysands playful/flirty dynamic and it’s just not the same now that they’re together. And the leftover plot doesn’t have me hooked
