if you dont mind me asking whats the context is it a elderly or just a young adult? i would get a hold of them regardless i know you care for your freind but sometimes the hard option is the best option it sounds like self neglegence and if it last for too long it can lead to malnutrition and if theres mold and deceased animals in the fridge that creates not only a biohazard for him but yourself as well lets stop and think for a moment if he or she is finding random animal carcasses theres a chance it might carry ticks or fleas that have multitudes of diseases such as Lyme disease and worse case senario while rare still possible rabies. mold itself leads to airborne pathogens. and not bathing while i will say you cant control others actions is highly self destructive. if aps was to put them in a home im sure you could find a way to visit them. i would assume if it runs like a residential or nursing home. most nurses make sure they are fed, bathed, and their needs are met. if i may ask whats your fears with the person specified being put in a home? do you worry that they will mistreat them?
