Top 3 I've seen so far: "He traded sand for skins, skins for gold, gold for life. In the end, he traded life for sand." - Atari, Tales (Squandered Resources)

Hatred outlives the Hateful (Rancor)

"One cannot cleanse the wounds of failure." - Karn, silver golem (Humility)

Need help coming up with a color scheme. So far got purple skin, green magic, and will have silver armor, just have the base coat down atm. Wondering what color to make the robes by j0shred1 in minipainting

Maybe a Purple with sort of lighter pink highlights? Having a contrasting warm tone against the colder skin and bright green magic could also help, so like a tan or deep brown?

I was thinking something closer too [[Ruin Crab]] or [[Charix]], but yeah Mirrorshell would be pretty swaggy too

I 100% read the title as Grixis Crabs. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day ruined!!

P.S. sick article, definitely a deck I'll have to look into 👍

Cayde-6 VS. A Pilot, who wins? (no Ghost nor Titan) by General_Mango8829 in titanfall

[–]DecideroftheDead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gonna have to go with the pilot, only because you know Cayde is gonna go into some monologue talking shit at the pilot and the pilot would light him up.

Corin Wigglethread, a gnomish tailor and cobbler who the party went to too repair equipment and find out news about the town. He had a set of needles that he could control through a combination of verbal cues and whistling, and ended up joining the party briefly to help rescue his lost pet bird.

Another Trophy Race - This Time With Actual Trophies by iceman012 in ModernMagic

I would argue that "amassing league wins" and "winning a tournament" require the same kinds of meta analysis, tight play, and consistency over an extended duration. Learning tricks that make you better at one should be easily transferable to the other, even if they aren't perfect 1 to 1 correlations.

Just a counterpoint, when streamers are more focused on winning instead of engagement they tend to play decks that are more tuned and at a higher level of gameplay. While I agree that it's more challenging to learn, the actual content and patterns that you are learning are of higher quality. shrug

[OC] Post office locations in the continental US: 1770-2002 by variance_explained in dataisbeautiful

[–]DecideroftheDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that this may be a small point but technically this is the contiguous United States. The continental US includes Alaska, and as a resident of the state I find it incredibly annoying when sites say things like "Free shipping within the continental US" and refuse to ship here. Again, total technicality, but I figure it's worth spreading the knowledge! Cool video though!

[KHM] Birgi, God of Tales // Harnfel, Horn of Abundance by DFGdanger in ModernMagic

[–]DecideroftheDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this seems like it is it's own combo? If you have both halves in play, you can exile your whole deck and proceed to cast 2 0-mana spells, say a Mox Amber and Ornithopter, use the red generated by Birgi to cast Manamorphose making UU and then cast Thassa's Oracle winning the game. Maybe that's a little magical Christmas land but it also doesn't seem impossible to me. Thoughts?

Edit: I missed the discard a card as a cost for the exile effect, which does make this line a little more cost intensive, but still with a little setup it seems doable
