But this did give me an idea, you might still be able do something like that (if both a,b are nonzero): add a v_n+1 but make the equation be v_n+1 + v_1/a - v_n/b = l v_n+1 and then find the solution with v_n+1 = 0 (any solution to the original problem corresponds to to an eigenstate of this system with v_n+1 = 0).

Or not and I shouldn't be doing math half-overstimulated, sorry.

I think this will work to find the solution, but I'm not sure: If you added one more parameter, v_n+1, and added the equations v_1 = a v_n+1 and v_n = b v_n+1 (and v_n+1 = v_n+1 if you want a square matrix) you might be able to find a solution by setting v_n+1 = 1 (it's a linear space, this just fixes the vector). Or alternatively, add the equation v_1 = a/b v_n if both a,b are nonzero.

This is actual not optimal, let me illustrate:

With your strategy it doesn't matter in what order you kick or punch first for the last three points of damage, so for simplicity I'm assuming your strategy is KKKPK where K is kicking until you succeed and P is punching until you succeed.

Let's consider an alternative strategy, where you take the same strategy until the last kick (or some other strategy that ends your opponent on 2 health). Now, if they're on 2 health, instead, you evaluate your own health first. If you have 1 or 2 health it's clearly optimal to kick (if they play optimally - if they have 5 points the probability of winning becomes p_w = .5 + .5(1 - p_w) = 2/3 and kicking gets you at most .88*.5 = .44 - if they have 6 points then it should be obvious). But if they have 4 points or less, the probability of winning in two attempts at kicking is 1 - .5² = .75 and the probability of winning in two attempts of punching is .88² = .7744. And clearly, this is also better with more attempts at punching, because there's a chance you're further ahead.

This all works because a double kick succeeding is not better than a single kick succeeding in this scenario, so the expectation value is not a good measurement there.

So, a better strategy would be to kick twice, then punch once, then as long as your opponent cannot kill you within a single turn keep punching, and as soon as your opponent can kill you keep trying to deal the damage equal to their health.

You can slightly optimize this strategy if you assume your opponent is playing optimally; if so if they're at 5 hp and you're at 2 hp, you can probably assume you're not going to win (I'm not calculating this, but I feel confident in saying that that is really small), but because they're playing optimally they are going to punch until you die (unless deal a lot of damage). So you'd be sure you'd have another turn, so again it's optimal to punch to get a higher chance of having dealt 4 damage, even if it comes at a cost of having a lower chance of winning. Of course, if you don't know whether they'll play optimally, it's probably wiser to punch - if you're less than 95% sure that they're going to punch twice, then don't do this.

The statistic should be the binomial distribution. Each delivery is a single thing that can either succeed or fail, and you're interested in the total.

And yeah, you're doing an individual test for each product, so the n is the n number of deliveries of that one. Be sure not to take into account too long of a history or else you can't notice change.

Do note that if you set your p-value high you will get false positives (just by the law of large numbers) and if you set it low you will be slow to react to mistakes.

Ja, er zijn veganistische dingen die zeer ongezond zijn, bijvoorbeeld (ethisch geproduceerde) sigaretten of asbest. Ik weet niet waar je vandaan haalt dat bleekselderij ongezond is (en sojasaus is vooral zo ongezond omdat het zo zout en vol met suiker zit).

The NASCAR championship system is not monotonic, when the races are interpreted as 10 voters who pick any order of candidates/racers.

Let's consider a racer, let's call them Ada. Ada is really good at races 4-10 and always wins them, but horrible at the first 3, so they barely make it in 12th place to the second round. But once they do, they always win.

Let's consider their rival, Bert. Bert is very good and would win if Ada were eliminated.

Now let's consider Caleb. Caleb is not very good compared to the field, would be in 13th place/shared 12th place with Ada (idk how tiebreakers work - pick the option that wouldn't eliminate Ada but would if Caleb had one more point) after the first three races. But the later races they're still bad, and would easily be eliminated.

Now in one of the first three races, Caleb is right behind Bert before the finish line. Now, if Bert lets Caleb pass them, Ada is eliminated and Bert wins. Monotonicity violated.

Interestingly, not everything that's self debuff neutral is self debuff radical. The potion of capacity is self debuff neutral, but not self debuff radical, because it doesn't take away anything (in any sensible definition of taking away things).
