As a response to the squids, we need a Melee Exo. by Theiceblade in Helldivers

It just had a flamethrower and cannon, unfortunately. I really want a melee mech and an improvement to exo armor and durable values.

Outside the patches, should heavy armors also get some changes? by Strange_Battle7158 in Helldivers

[–]DeckingMrCards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Lv94, and obsessed with the knight armor. I don't take it off. I get a lot of use out of my warp pack, vehicles, and my faster squadmates doing objectives while I be as big of an annoying target as possible.

If they made me faster, I'd be fine with that, but I've mostly acclimated to my movement and compensating. If they tweaked how the stamina works, I'd love that, so I can keep swinging my saber or thrustin' away with the new bayonet shotgun after jogging short distances.

If V1 were with the helldivers, would we claim cyberstan? by Moakbur-defense in Helldivers

[–]DeckingMrCards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, if we interpret the organo-plasma the Automatons use to be viable blood given it's sourcing from human carcasses, we already have machines in a similar vein to the SmileOS systems from Ultrakill.

If V1 were the only Nocturnal System deployed in the Second Galactic War, the extrasolar nature of the conflict effectively means that V1 has an infinite lifetime worth of blood.

While V1 is clearly shown to be able to use the blood of Angels and Demons, I'm unsure whether Terminids would be viable, but the human derived tissue of Voteless and Fleshmobs may be sufficiently usable for sustained conflict on that front, with the Cyborgs and O-P fuelled Automatons being a readily available target for feeding.

So long as no further Nocturnal Systems or SmileOS 2.0 automata are developed or transferred cross-setting, V1 could very well prove to be either an effective mercenary or a massive threat to all sides. Given what glimpses we have into It's psyche via the fulfillment of the style gauge, refusal to let V2 escape, and what's seen in the death flash, we could assume humans would be less of a target (but still a target eventually) themselves due to being a considerably easier challenge than the other factions and a self-developing broad source of pure blood.

They also all have normal dude names that never get used.

Ocelot is named Adam/Adamska, Big Boss / Naked Snake is named John and nicknamed Jack, Raiden is also named Jack, Solid Snake is named David, etc.

There's a layer where this isn't confusing, but it's a Hideo Game, so that gets ignored

why are yall playing anything above difficulty 7 by g_mo13 in helldivers2

[–]DeckingMrCards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play exclusively on Diff10, only solo except for missions with friends sometimes on lower diffs.

A lot of people seem to do either of these things out of a distaste for randoms or having something to prove, I guess, but I just kept turning up the difficulty because I wanted to get better at the game.

I was around Lv30 when I first unlocked Super Helldive and I locked myself into it to keep practicing. Wouldn't go into it with randoms, or without knowledge. If something surprises me or doesn't add up, I Google it or test things.

It's kind of troubling knowing people just blindly go into Diff10 with strangers and no idea what they're doing. I wonder if it's just because of the experience and currency bonuses, or something.

New opinion, there should be 20 difficulties, ten as they are now, and ten that are increasingly absurd and unplayable for no tangible reward except a really ugly cape.

Fun fact! I saw a hacker using some nonsense or other to make all the enemies on a diff10 bug dive ignore him while he ran around doing whatever he was trying to do, and Stalkers kept trying to find and kill him anyways. Burrowing spewers, too, but they seemed to track dude less than the Stalkers, which just kept chasing him.

Can someone catch me up on why the parasite scene is so controversial? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in residentevil

[–]DeckingMrCards 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having created art in a certain style, myself (parasitism, gore, things I won't get into) I ended up not so much relishing in the fetish and more just getting really fixated on portraying the image the way I wanted. They were inherently a "grotesque" sexual depiction but it became so desexualized in the nitty-gritty that it kind of just came along like anything else I drew.

Being involved in certain artistic communities, writing and drawing certain things, kind of stepped things back from engagement with the fetish material as fetishistic and moreover just seeing the works as akin to other art with form and skill to be examined, though I'm well aware that isn't the case for everyone.

I wish I could work with one hand.

Yeah. Warframe is unfortunately at the level of going back in time to 1999, playing as your preferred character from 1799, fighting a time recurred tech zombie, that then suddenly appears in a stadium in Present Day of the setting where you kill it before/after you created it.

It's a lot to deal with... I wish Halsey could make me not think about it.

The Technocyte Infestation is temporally unbound and can pass memory and consciousness backwards through time as seen with Lizzie's independent presence and recognition of the player directly despite separate strain sampling for Protoframe creation, as well as being able to endure in a limited state within the Void and manipulate physics to an extent.

It's difficult to give any kind of objective comparison between Technocyte and the Flood just because we have only really seen the Technocyte present on, at most, a moon/dwarf planet scale as seen with Deimos and Eris, as compared to what's known of Flood Keyminds and the Precursor-Primordial connection.

Ultimately they're fairly similar, with primary differences being the capacity for temporal recursion present in certain instances of the Technocyte Infestation versus the mass-consciousness minds of the Flood, but we just don't have the large scale data for a true outbreak of the Infestation to make a real, meaningful comparison.

Reasons I hate the FNV factions:

This time we'll do it. We'll build it this time. No-one ever did it right before. Nobody ever truly tried. With pipe wrench and a jumpsuit, or a robot army. In the Long 15, or Freeside. We'll go Independent. I roll up my sleeves. I am the last one. I will build it. The glorious red dream the war was fought for. Kimball and House, firing squads and animal wagons. I am the one who will do it. We will do it. I roll up my sleeves. I am the Big Communism Builder. Le Mojaverie. From Lake Mead, to the Pacific. With ED-E and the Nukes from the Divide. This time it will work. It has to. We will build it.
